    Same as what Mutineer states:
My buddy crashed at BHF so I'm riding solo for a while. I've been fortunate enough to always have a rider or 2 nearby hang at my canopy.
If you're in need of some shade, a chair or a semi-respectable conversation, feel free to come by.
Black/Orange R6 , blue canopy, sunset colored Hyundai Tuscon.

Very very very few track managers will have a hissy fit over an injured rider/drivers haulers being there at the days end until someone can come get it in a day or two. They understand "it happens".

The one time I did go down at Road America, I was taken by ambulance an hour and half down to Milwaukee. Thank god my gf was with me to gather up all my stuff. She asked people to help load my bike onto the trailer and everyone around helped her in whatever she needed. I'm not sure what would have happened if I we're alone.

I've traveled alone to almost every track day I've done in the last 8 years.

I turn off the passcode in the phone, and there are ICE (In Case of Emergency) entries in the contacts.

I have a small pouch on my helmet with emergency info and doctors info, etc. like this: http://www.idformyhelmet.com/

Also, perhaps because I am depending on myself to get back home, I perhaps do not take as many risks or push as hard as I might. (explains why I'm still slow.)

I crashed at Putnam in 2010, injuring my wrist, and asked for help loading my stuff, which was immediately given by many. I drove home to Chicago with what turned out to be a broken wrist (at the time I thought it was a bad sprain). Not the easiest, but doable.

Pretty much we all understand that stuff can happen. Most all of us will help out in any way we can to get you / your stuff packed and safe.

Exactly. Hell I drove a guy 1.5 hours from BHF after his, now former buddy, ditched him at the track while he was in a race. Asshat left all the guys stuff next to his stands and other racebike and took off. Was fun packing my 6x12 trailer with 3 racebikes and my pit bike with only 2 chocks. Luckily I carry extra straps. Never seen either of them at the races again. No idea what went on. He had no idea why the guy did that either on the way to Madison.

this is what i did. all tracks i go to are between 3.5 to 6 hours away from me, so of course nobody wants to go with me, but i taped an emergency card to my chest protector, it has everything i felt anybody could need to know if i were unconscious. name, dob, blood type, allergies, all that medical stuff, and then even my make model and license plate for my car.

prior to leaving, i ensure i have someone willing to drop what they are doing that weekend to come pick up my car and trailer and get it home if i'm in the hospital. i tell my pit neighbors that if anything happens, emergency contact in my phone(ICE) and where my phone is. also the emergency contact information i give to STT staff is accurate as well.

this way, medically, i'm good, logistically, i'm good also. i only have to rely on pit neighbors to load my setup up into my car, and i can ride worry free this way, too. several people have seen my card on my chest protector and they all agree its a really good idea. i may have gone a bit overboard with the info provided on it, but it also helps them to ask me questions to see if i have a concussion or something, i guess.

Glad I read this... If I couldn't do trackdays by myself I wouldn't ever be able to attend them. My girlfriend has come with me 2 out of 15 times. I'm always by myself at the track. Usually it's at my local track (Nola) and it's a hour drive from home where I know almost everyone, but I've been making more trips to barber, with plans to go to tally and others, so I suppose this is something I really need to consider. Like the tips about putting info on dash. Like the idea of tapping info on chest protector. I'll be implementing these into my routine. Thanks for the ideas! See ya at the track!

    Dgig,
I'm local to NOLA also. I'm usually there alone too but I live close to the rack. Lately, a friend of mine has done a few NOLA days with me. I've gone to COTA (8hrs away) by myself and I'll likely be going to Barber (5hrs away) by myself. I know how it is. If you are ever out at NOLA you can always pit with us.
I make most all of the NOLA track days but won't be there this September. I'll be at Barber 9/3 instead.

Hope is not a plan. Oh...well in this case hope is the plan.

I go on my own too. Don't really know anyone at the track (some first names).

Now you've made me think of it, I'll need to make a better plan. Plenty of good ideas here.

What kind of bike do you have? Is it a ZX6? ive probably met you before, i have a red and white r6 that i pull with my old silver corolla(the only one ive seen like it out there lol). I road at barber 9/4... it was a sad/crazy weekend.

As for loading up crashed bikes for other people i dont know, ive done it before, and ill do again any time. One time i had to give them some of my straps to get it strapped down. You never know, one day when you need help, just hope someone is friendly enough to lend a hand.

Yeah. Green ZX6r. I carry it to the track with a tailgate/hitch trailer on my black Grand Cherokee.
9/4 at Barber must've been a weird day. After seeing the scene of the crash I would have had a herd time riding Sunday. I'm not sure how I'll feel the next time at the track. The whole thing's been messing with my head.
One of the first thoughts in my mind was "I hope that guy wasn't here alone". I heard he wasn't, thank goodness.
I've been helped at the track by strangers. I'd be happy to return the favor to anyone, anytime.

I agree with this statement. I will be at NOLA Saturday. I was not at Barber, but still what happened has me concerned a bit. I've been probably what is worse than going alone to the track, I have my 14 year old son with me. He plans to go Saturday, but I'm considering having him stay home if my wife cannot join us. We live a little over 2hrs from NOLA, so not horrible if she needed to get there.

I did go ahead and prepared a laminated emergency info card to wear on a lanyard on my neck under my leathers. Maybe it will stay there and not come out and flap around on my back.
