Not to sound whiney but I was told by stt that memebers can't sell their spots to other members, they have to go to the next person on the wait list. At least that's what they told me when I tried to get kman's spot
Usually after you complete the transaction with the buyer, the buyer should call or email the Stt office and make them aware of the transaction. This year you don't have to be a member with Stt as in previous years. But you do get extra benefits if you are one!
I am a member and thats what we tried to do. He moved to A group and was going to sell me his I spot but was told he couldn't do that and I had to go on the wait list. This was from the customer service line.
never been told a memeber couldnt sell to another member, only stip is the BUYER has to be a member as well, even though membership is not required to buy from STT. maybe the customer service rep was confused or there was miscommunication. why would there be a For Sale Event category on this forum, if you couldnt sell your event time?
Thats what I thought. We planned it out that when he switched his spot to A that I would buy his but we were told no it has to go to someone on the wait list. So I just had to join the wait list otherwise I would've bought his spot.
It took 2 different calls and both ladies said I couldn't transfer it to him and that it had to go to someone on the waiting list. Well, the first said they didn't know if I could transfer it since there was a waiting list and would call me back. My second call to them the next day I was told: No, you can't transfer it to him. I mean I understand, rules are rules, and people spent the effort to put themselves on the waiting list hoping for a spot. I know I wouldn't want to be undermined if I was on the waiting list. Perhaps the difference here was that I wasn't simply selling my spot but trying to change it to A from I. Perhaps it would have been OK if I had sold my spot and then bought another in A rather than just having my spot changed? I hope everyone gets a spot who wants to go.:nod:
i believe the problem was you were mixing groups. if you have an A spot, you have to sell it as an A spot, etc. i don't believe you can cross groups when selling, otherwise i don't think there would have been a problem.
Well that makes more sense. Basically if he would've purchased an "A" spot then sold me his "I" spot it would've work but since he just simply trasfered his "I" to "A" then it had to go a someone on the reserve end. I can deal with that. Just thought it was wierd when I was told I couldn't buy his spot. Well I'm still looking for an "I" spot if anyone needs to sell for Saturday the 28th. I'll even take an "A" spot.
