The august gingerman date is sponsored by the ducati owners and riders club. What exactly is that all about? Is it just for ducs only or can anyone still sign up and go? JUst curious. Would like to make that date but didn't know if there was something special about it or not. Thanks.

    Paulie-
This will be our 2nd year sponsoring the event. The event itself is open to everyone, but our club usually brings water (and maybe food, i don't remember) for any Ducati owners. Plans are still in the works, but this year we are hopinh to make this a bigger event, with live music, big name sponsors, etc... Like I said, details are still being worked out, but in the end, its basically a typical track day for anyone. You might want to sign up early though, because we are asking Ducati clubs from surrounding states to promote it in their areas as well...

    go here for more details!

    EDIT: edited for correctness.

Thanks steve for the info. Live music and what not. Thats a fantastic idea. I hope everything works out. It looks like me and a few other guys will try to sign up for that weekend. Have never been to gingerman but I hear it's a great place to do a tday and the surrounding area and town are great to hang out and do things. Can you give me some info about the track itself? Layout, surface and what not. Thanks.

    Gingerman is a fun course!

In addition it's paved in strips with a slight gap between them. It takes a bit getting used to going over it but once you get used to it and you don't even notice. You don't need race tires here because the surface is so grippy. Lots of people rock this track with standard street performance tires *ahem* Michelin Pilot Powers *ahem* and they'll last and last and last...

Here are a vid from a few years back that I took on my Duc, I'm sure others here have some too!

The last few years have been great with 20+ members each year from the club coming out to ride, and STT puts on an excellent weekend event there. The food is always good and you can't miss the crf-fiddy shenanigans! Be sure to stop by our pit and say hi.

Jesse does great work. Unfortunately, I've been on the wrong side of some of his photoshop abilities!

I'm working on a PC using CS2. I have not heard of Indesign. Is it a graphics program?

InDesign is part of the CS2 package, it's a page layout program, much easer for things like your poster. I use Photoshop for retouching, Indesign for layouts and Illustrator for creating vectored Art. All three are adobe so they work together.

Indesign is a desktop publishing program, way better than Quark Express which was the industry standard when I was working in the design biznitch 10 years ago. Nice work, though!

if you had a mac I'd give you a copy. Don't tell adobe
If you do a lot of things like that poster it makes life easer.
Uses a lot less ram and the type is way easer. When I need type in photoshop, I make it in Indesign and drop it in photoshop.

Yeah, I'm on a PC... :? With 4gig/ram, it works ok though. By the way, STT and STG, I'd be happy to do some graphic stuff for you guys if you want/need it (free of course!).

    :p

    From STT site...

I think St. Joseph is your best bet if you're used to chain hotel accomodations.
