I've been shopping for a new pair of gauntlet gloves meeting the following conditions...
    * under $100
    * has plastic palm sliders (aka scaphoid protection)

One model I found that I liked, Teknic Lightning, is no longer available.

Looking for other suggestions...meeting the criteria above. Thanks in advance.

STG has a pair from Scorpion for under $99 with sliders but I don't believe they're full gauntlet.

Save for another month and drop $200 on something quality. You'll be glad you did.

Honestly invest in the best gloves you can afford I nearly lost my pinky due to a crash at Barber and after 30,000 + in medical bills it still doesn't work

Ouch!!!! Man check Craig's list. I was able to score a 300$ pair of alpine star gp for 80 bucks with only 5 track days and a few street rides on them. Still fairly new.. worth a shot.

Racer brand gloves are great, you can check them out at STG. Most comfortable pair of gloves I have ever worn, palm sliders, kangaroo palm, great fit and feel.

    No glove no love

Buy good stuff. Seriously I will buy a good set for you and you can pay me 10 bucks a month. It's not worth a finger for 125 more dollars

Honestly save up a get a good set of gloves like everyone else is saying. I had Teknic Lightnings and nearly lost my pinky. I was sure it was gone as my hands were numb and the end piece protecting that finger had worn off completely. This was really concerning because when I looked down no "digit" was sticking out. It wasn't until a few seconds later I realized the glove slid upward on my hand by the grace of god giving me a little more room to spare. Spidi Carbo-3's for me now crashed and didn't even feel it.

Bottom line: I believe 100 percent that you get what you pay for when it comes to gear.

I agree with everybody else. I spent more on my gloves and boots (individually, not combined) than my helmet. My logic is:

    1) If you get off the bike, your hands and feet are pretty much guaranteed to hit the ground.

    2) If you tumble after getting off the bike, your hands and feet will be hitting the ground with higher velocity than any other part of your body since they're all at the end of appendages.

    3) Gloves and boots are reusable after a crash. Helmets are one and done.

    4) My health insurance deductible is $1500. If my gear saves me one trip to the doctor, it's payed for itself.

There is no excuse for going cheap on gear. Trust us, you will regret it if and when you go to test the gear.

Save another couple bones and get some handroids or helds. There are a LOT of good gloves out there, but none of them are in the 100 range. You will thank us later.

You can score great used ones if you keep looking. I got my A* GP Techs for $100, with 1/2 race season on them. Awesome glove.

here are the gp tech's i have, they are great condition, mostly wore them street riding, never down, no seams split. they have the pinky to ring finger bridge, to protect the littlest digit. sliders on the scaphoid area of the palm, the wrist closure is a hard plastic compound of some sort. these were alpinestars flagship glove. they were close to 300 new. i use rs tiachi now to match my suit.

they are double xtra large (xxl) BUT, alpinestars gloves run small.

I've got a pair or RS Taichi's with palm sliders (evo's) and I love them. "Tested" them a couple times too and they hold up great

IMHO: RS Taichi, A* or Knox gloves. I have had all three brands. All have been/are great, but all were over $150 /pair. So far I have tested the A* and RS Taichi in crashes at the track, and each fared extremely well: I kept using them long after the crashes.

I had a pair of Cortech gloves (under $100) - destroyed after one crash ~50mph on track. The palm pads tore right off (they were a soft textile type). They saved my hands, but had it been a faster/ harder fall, I would have gotten severely hurt.

I had a pair of Olympia (I think) gloves (under $100), and the leather had a small hole in one palm after one crash ~ 30 mph on the street, but the kevlar lining inside was intact. I was able to use these much longer on the street. BUT these were only a street glove, the leather was much too soft for track duty.

IN SHORT: I have gotten lucky with cheaper gloves (under $100)... BUT... Get the best pair of track gloves you can afford, personally I wouldn't look at anything under ~$150. This is the price range where you start to get all the protective features, without many compromises.

RS Taichi WRX are good. A* GP Plus are good. Knox gloves are good, in my experience. Many coaches rock the Knox Handroid.

so your hands are only worth $100?? try getting road rash on them, or worse yet try getting it down to the bone, either way will suck ass.. if there is one thing i can stress in this sport. BUY THE QUALITY GEAR.. there is a reason why they cost what they do.

that said i will recommend the Knox Biomech gloves, i have crashed the living chit out of them and they hold up great.
