Hey you guys, I just wanted to post a topic to start up a conversation. Anyway, I was just wondering how many of you had a day at work like I'm having today. Now this is cool. We're hardly ever slow at work and I asked my boss yesterday what he wanted me to do when I come in tonight. To my suprise he said there's nothing to do tomorrow. You can come in and make parts for your bike or something. He was actually serious too. I didn't believe it at first. His reasoning was "Hey if you work at a donut shop you get free donuts right." Well, fortunately I work in a metal Fab shop and I'm in the process of making a front and rear stand with some custom made spools for my bike. Not only am I saving money, but I'm getting paid to do it..... :D :D 8) Anyway, just curious to hear some other stuff.

to me "Good Day" and "Work" are mutually exclusive terms.

Yesterday wasn't too bad here actually. Despite the workload coming into my department being twice it's usual and us being understaffed by about half!

What made it good was finally snapping and telling my manager that if I had to hear her break into tears in her cube next to mine one more time cause she couldn't handle the workload and inner-departmental bickering, I was going to start finding it hard to keep seeing her as my manager and having respect for her. I phrased it much nicer than that, but essentially it was like slapping her in the face and telling her to pull herself together!

Many people question how much I actually work. I'm the OE Development Manager for Bilstein (German shock supplier) here in the US. I live in the Detroit area, but technically I work for our US manufacturing plant near Cincinnati. I work at customer's proving grounds as needed & I don't have an office otherwise. Setting my own schedule allows me to "work" at a lot of weekday track events, so I end up having a lot of good days at "work" each season. In fact, I'm writing this from Phoenix where I spend Winters for work. I've been helping AZ Track Day while I'm been out here for the last several Winters too. It's a pretty good gig.

Man, DJ now I just have to find a way to go to the track and call that work......Then again I haven't even been to the track yet D'oh!!!! :? I am going at the end of April and I won't be back again until the the weekend of the 20th of May. I wanted to go to Grattan the first weekend of May, but I still have military obligations for a few more months. I am going to try to go 2 or 3 times a month this summer though. Expensive, but it's what I want to do. By the way I'll look forward to seeing you in April

I good day at work for me includes working with some really great athletes. I've got a guy coming in today that has a good possibility of getting drafted into the NFL. He ran a 4.36 forty, and a 3.97 agility run (the next top time was 4.07) I've also got a wide reciever coming in that is 6'3" and 245lbs thats a jr and has a good possibility of getting drafted next year. check out our website... www.nffast.com ....bad days consist of dealing with nothing but 12year old whining girls and thier parents getting mad at me because we're not making it fun enough for them...sometime I wonder why we have sports enhancement on all of our brochures if we are expected to run a day camp by some of the parents...geez...all in all I love what I do though

I work in Customer Service for a technology company. Some days, I have to talk myself out of climbing the clock tower. Other days, I'm drowning in boredom.

All in all, I love what I do, but I would rather be working in the motorcycle industry. If only sweeping floors at a shop.

I know this is gonna sound lame but I haven't had a bad day at work in the last 4 years. I work 10-14 hours a day and I love it. Maybe I'm nuts but I really do love my job.

That sounds pretty cool. I don't have to many bad days at work either. It was kind of a scarcasm thing. It's a cool job. I get to use my brain, work with my hands, be creative, and I only work 4 days a week so the track is so much easier to attend. :D :D :D
