Thanks for the suggestion, I watched these a few times to start learning the track ahead of time. Looks like a lot of fun! Will probably watch them a few more times.
even before my td's at grattan, i like to watch my own videos. it helps me find my weak areas (early braking, rolling off the gas too early when i should be on the gas), and spots where i can make passes (safely). imissed the sept 1/2 dats, so have to make up for that on the 29/30th. i just hope the weather holds out.
I think I am going to throw a go pro on my bike to see body position etc. Try to watch a few during sessions so I can work on some things! Hey Bart I think I saw your trailer at ACC 9/3 while walking the paddock, you look professional! Haha. Did you sign up for grattan?
Make sure you safety wire your GoPro. I haven't had any mounts fail for me, but I almost ran over a GoPro on the track once. It can be a little tricky getting it mounted properly with the right angle to see your body position.
i fully agree with this my first time was earlier this year and all turns except pit out is an oh shit moment lol
pitting out going CW or CCW? going out CW is a breeze, just STAY to the RIGHT!!!!! pitting out goin CCW is tricky, as its a sharp left turn exit. and it makes it a bit more challenging with fork to frame bushings/steering stops. lol cant fakin wait. last TD for me for the season. and glad theres a CCW on sunday. just hope the weather is going to be nice and not too many "throw-away" sessions.
Quote not my own, but fit perfectly for my first at Grattan as a Neb " Right away I realized I was going to die " " I got over that, and realized I was going die " See you there 9/29
Just found out yesterday that I WILL be there for both days! Lookin' forward to seeing you back out on the track. :thumb:
Thanks. It'll be good/great to be back and I'm glad you'll be there for moral support. :slap: I'm sure I'll need some help getting BACK over the wall of fear and having a familiar face/buddy will help out alot. My wife is mad at me for signing up in "I" at ACC, she thinks I should've signed up for "A" and frankly so do I. Kinda like you've told me "some of the guys should've stayed in "N" and some should've gone up to "A" creating a dangerous enviroment". But then again, I SHOULD HAVE known better than to do what I did. I'm just glad I didn't take out the other guy, I was the one creating the danger!!!! So now I'm debating which to sign up for at Grattan (my far from home, home track)? I was clearly one of the faster guys after a few sessions after I got used to the track. I just got egotistical trying to get around a guy on a litre bike and overdid it at the apex in 2. :der: Will sign up for "I" and hopefully be confident enough to beg for a bump in the afternoon. :scared: Either way, it will be good to be at a track I'm familiar with when I do climb back on. :thumb:
i'm booked off work and have my track time 29/30, bringing the other bike this time, '08 kawi zzr600 haven't rode it in a year but picked up some race plastics braided steel lines and switched to water and water wetter( i really don't want to drop my 2012 lol ), should be an awesome second trackday/time at grattan, looking forward to it hoping steve802cc makes it out again too
i really hope the weather is going to be good to us this weekend. its been pretty chilly in the morning untill about 11/noon lately. i hope i dont need to use an ice scraper on my bike. lol
If it goes from the mid-40's to 75, like today, I would be happy..... Getting the cold gear ready though.
Got the go-ahead from my Dr. My family and I are going to come up! :thumb: Dr. Suggested I try not to crash and test his handy work out just yet. Looking forward to seeing my track buds.
wish we were going John. you guys have fun, be safe, and dont get too fast on me. hope you and the family have a great safe trip from and to home. Ski
