Thanks for a great first time at the track! Sorry to those in the intermediate group, didn't have quite the confidence I wanted due to several reasons. Did not want to push, and wanted to stay safe. I know a couple people were frustrated with me slowing in the corners, and blowing the straights.... not much I can do, just learning and doing my best to retain all the info. Thanks Blake, nice meeting you and look forward to seeing you on the track again. Needed those tire warmers after all! took half the session to get the tires going! All good, had a blast and am hooked! Cheers everyone, and safe riding Greg
I didn't see you out there but there was a pretty good crowd Saturday and I bumped to A group Sunday after the oil spill. Maybe you should consider trying the novice class and work on your cornering skills. The fastest way around the track is in the proper exit of turns but you can't execute a good exit if you've blown the entrance. There's no shame in slowing down, that's how you learn to become faster. GunShow Nick did an excellent job of explaining this at Gingerman during a track walk. His approach was to show you where you want to be on the exit looking at the turn from the exit point rather than the entrance, it really was an eye opener for me. If you're a quick study, you won't be in stuck in novice for long, they'll bump you. You'll be railing through corners faster and have more confidence with some instruction. Glad you had a great time!
