Yesterday was quite possibly the best day EVER at Road America. We had approximately 45 people sharing 4-miles of the fastest track on our schedule. To those of you who attended, you just experienced Road America as you probebly never will again. To those of you who missed it....... Holy Sh#t did we have fun. We ran traditional I and A roup for the first hour then went to a "open" format. Several riders rode in excess of 225 miles and a few put in nearly 300. Talk about hardcore!! We will be willing to do this again next year if we can get 60 riders signed up. We will cap the dy at 65 riders total. This was just so much fun that we have to try it again! Price would have to be $225 again. Let us know what you think.
I'm in! well, as soon as i fix the rash on the MV that is... Excellent time, right up to the highside....note to self, dont do that again.
Moving good? While I was on the bike or while I was skidding down the asphalt?   It was a stellar day at the track, even with that little mishap. Well I didnt buy the bike to look at, I bought it too ride.
Man, thats what i like to hear. Bringing a bike to the track to ride!!! Its amazing how many people bring thier pristine blinged out bikes to the track and expect nothing to go wrong at all! I like the way you think BDMF!
Good that you are up and around . Someone had made a comment that you were getting in some decent laps . I like what they did with the track . The tunnel gives one hell of a first impression . Got rid of that bridge ,thank you . That bridge always gave me the creeps . T5,T6 , and 8 are a blast . Perfect weather , grass skirts and cocconut shells
Yep, the bike is fun. It's a big change from the Tuono, or the 600's. Riding positrion is extreme, and it's taking me a while to get used to it. The green track was a godsend. I stayed out for 2 full sessions and gained a huge amount of insight into the bikes handling and braking characteristics. Exhausting, but well worth it. With the limited number of riders on the track I could actually slow the pace down and play with new lines/brake markers/gearing/etc. We definately need to have more days like this, and at more tracks. But not until my broken hand heals! The track improvements are really nice. And the grass skirt mafia...well...I'm certain that with therapy and medication, LOTS OF MEDICATION, the nightmares will cease. Although Monte really does have the knees for a grass skirt....
I thought his coconuts were the highlight for me...wait a minute that didn't come out right Awesome event, I'm in for next year! Had a blast swapping places with the other members of the flying R6 trio. BDMF...My dad's a TV repairman, he's got an ultimate set of tools...we can fix it.
HECK YEAH! I hurt my bike and it was still the best track day ever. Seriously, an open track at Road A. to come and go as you wish, is unbelievable! I felt like a factory rider.
If I'm fast enough by then (it's important to have goals  ) I'd sign up. I did Novice on the 10th with 'Thingy' and Rob (also STT Staff) and they were both awesome! The ride back to Michigan through Chicago s_cked tho... :x
I was coming out of the bend in fron of Ken Kenisugu from SportRider and had a really nice second gear crossed-up wheelie going (about a foot high, purely acceleration induced of course) and my toe clicked the shifter up into FIRST gear.... I grabed the clutch but I still think I might have hurt it. It seems to be makin a strange noise (noone else thinks so...) but maye I am just noticing it more now... I'll change the oil and wring it out at Mid-Ohio and see what gives, I don't want to risk 155+ MPH incident at Road America.
"Must sign up for more track days" No..can't do it..."Use the credit card, you have room"...nooooooooo, ah what the hell
