I agree totally! I think that's why Stoner has done so well this year. It's amazing how much he crashed last year but hasn't crashed once this year! I think the 800's and all the technology (traction control/engine management) have taken alot of rider skill out of the equation. It's getting to the point that throttle control isn't a needed skill!!! I think Rossi is a much better rider but his God given talent is being taken out of the game due to all the techno advancements!!!! Any comments? I know I miss the 500's and the 990 machines!
Right, I know he has crashed in practice, how many more times then other riders? I don't know the numbers but I monitor the Moto GP web site and I don't think he crashed that much in practice, I could be wrong. Nevertheless, he (Stoner) has a history of being a "crasher" and last season he crashed quite often in the races. If he is crashing in practice its because (my opinion) he is" dialing" in the bike for that given track. Yes, I agree the tire sitsuation has played a role but how much? I think its a combination of bike/electronics/tires and some rider that has been the story. This is just one man's opinion. I think Ducati just got it so right this year and it was tailored made for Stoner's style!
