Hi my name is Josh Dean and I have my first trackday scheduled at Barbers April 13th. I will be riding an 02 yellow and black gsxr 750, also I am attending alone; so if you see me in the pits, feel free to stop and chat and release any pointers or info for the track lol. I have been riding quite sometime and like to ride hard, thus too many tickets have forced me to the track-which is a good thing!!! I am looking forward to this and hope everything turns out great. Thanks for looking.
I should be there the 13th too, also attending alone. I'll be riding a ghetto flat black painted kawasaki zx10r, wearing green and white kawasaki leathers, with a dark grey Ford F150. Say hello if you see me. This is only my 3rd track day so I'm no expert, but I'll try to give you whatever pointers I can.
Guys please bring someone with you, its never a good idea to attend a track day alone, anything can happen and you may need help during the day or with your drive home as you will be exhausted after two days at Barber.
kinda hard to convince ppl to come with you if they aren't riding. But I do have a friend I am trying to talk into going with me. oh and I'll be driving a 98 red z71 pulling a 5'x8' utility trailer. Anyway I think I'm gonna enjoy the crap out of it even if I do wind up attending alone. I'm actually going down on Saturday and spending the night at the hotel behind the chevron asa you turn on rex lake rd.
I will be there saturday too, come introduce yourself. And don't worry Mark, I have family that live like 15 minutes away from the track and will probably even attend for part of the weekend, so I have help if I need it. I just meant that I'm not bringing anyone with me who is also riding. Good advice though, ya never know what could happen.
I'll be there on April 13th and it too will be my first track day. I should be under a blue and white stripped pop-up canopy, white Tahoe, blue YZF600R--drop by and say hello[/quote]
I will be there on the lower tier riding "I" with a Blue RC. The trailer has a big blue mad sheep on the front if you want to stop and say hi. Good points Mark but for some it is either alone or not at all. I prefer friends along but they don't go as often so it is either alone or on the couch. Had the same discussion on hiking for years. Feel free to dance on my grave and say I told you so but in between I get to have fun  Besides if I am that tired I just get a room and stop (I have done it coming back from Putnam)
Awesome if some of you guys recognize me and I don't you, feel free to come chat. I hope my tires pass tech. I don't really feel like putting a new one on bc the one that's on it looks good to me. I just don't know exactly how strict they are on tire specs. To me the tread looks to be of an ample amount left and there isn't a flat middle or anything like that. I keep em pretty rounded off while riding on the street lol.
I went with a buddy of mine to the event on March 16, he rode I just observed, and from what he told me they were pretty strict on the tires. I presume the rider coaches oversee tech inspection, and if you look at some of their comments on the issue you'll see they're serious about it. I'm stll riding on OEM Bridgestone BT57's with 6k on them--no way they're seeing the track, so I will have Pilot Powers installed trackside.
I'll be there Saturday. It's my first track day, and I'm in advanced group. I can hardly wait. J/K of course.
