Alright, This is sure to garner some interesting opinions I'm sure!!! O.K., I'm "contemplating" a dirt cheap new(old) Michelin Pilot 2 H2 rear  and was wondering what would be a good modern front to go with it? :?: Looking at doing intermediate Roebling Road.......We're only talking about maybe 70-75 hp at the rear on a 430lb Laverda twin so smoking the rear/excceeding the tires limit aint an issue....No R1...No GSXR material here  .....This rear is a medium compound I've been told, and should (even though it's old hat) be more than sufficient for my setup. Anyone that can blow away the cobwebs from their memory and give me some input on this tire? Tire warmers reccomended? Do they warm up slow/fast, what pressures, etc..... 8)

    Thanks

My first concern would be how old it really is & where it has been stored. Race tires don't tolerate time & cold temperatures as well as street tires do. I'd find the date code on the tire & PM STT Guy if I were you.

I was thinking that too, it's got to be at least 4-5 years old?......I'm gonna avoid it now that I think about it more. It was around $50, cheap always gets my attention but upon further review............

I believe Chiquita Banana. com lists a matching front in several different compounds. Green=slippery, Yellow=kiss my ass good-bye and finally, Brown=fall over exiting the pits.

With the price of fresh tires vs. the cost of a crash, why would you do this?

As Spiccolli once said: "I Don't Know"..........

I think I'll stick with the fresh variety! :D

if the tire is new it will be fine. Dont sound like you are rossi to me. I know plenty of people who ran that tire last year with a power race fr. with warmers. hell if you dont want and its new ill take it.
