Whoa, they're going to have to bring in some better seating/viewing arrangements.

There is good and bad to this. Good for what they mentioned for the town and the economy. But the bad bc eventually it will be like Pocono's where they wont care about motorcycles riding at there facility.

This just doesnt sit well with me, "If F1 comes to Monticello, our intent is to preserve MMC as, first and foremost, a private country club. Obviously, demand will accelerate as well as the initiation fee for new members."

Once demand increases for the facility where will that put STT?

I just can't imagine how they'd pull this off. I'm very grateful that we get to run bikes there, but that's got to be a financial decision. You don't open the gates of a private country club to the unwashed masses unless you need CASH.

They don't even have permanent toilets, how are they going to fund the garages, race control, grandstands, jumbotrons, and (most importantly) track upgrades to bring the place up to FIM standards? Then think about the reason Indy lost the race - the obscene sum that FOM wants to be paid for rights to the race. Who's footing the bill for all this?

Think off all the shit Bernie gave Silverstone about upgrades over the years - and they already had the race/infrastructure!

Yeah my feeling on what you said feel the same too. I am just concerned with what happens when the economy bounces back and people are making money where they could get the membership numbers for the club up where they are profitable. Will still open there doors to motorcycles or to any club that runs motorcycles? I hope they still do. but if they get the place up to standards in what FIM requires then i am sure the amount of money it will take to hold events there will be enormous.

I think that MMC is looking for anyway to make money.

As the track stands it's no where close to being ready to host a F1 race.
They should put a call in to their neighbor Watkins Glen, they went broke trying to please Bernie. I think they're still to far from NY City and in the sticks.

I'm sure it must seem glamorous from all those high roller owners to host an even like that, but my prediction is if they try they'll go broke too. Bernie is so full of s**t he loves to lead people on, I bet he's never been there, once he sees it, forget it.

So don't get too depressed, if they host the race it won't be for 4-5 years and once they go belly up the new owners will once again welcome motorcycles back.

I'm never excited to hear about a track I ride allowing fast cars anyway.

The truly exotic cars just have more grip than a track can handle. Yeah, they bring in money, but they also do a lot of damage.

It can lead to some scary moments if you happen to run wide through a turn (T7 at BeaveRun comes to mind) because the cars have rippled the pavement so much.

I believe New Jersey has started to have some issues as well, since they started hosting some Rolex sports car events.
