i recently got a Moto-D start "next" laptimer and im having problems mounting it. i have a gpr steering damper and a gear indicator on my dash, and my forks are the non-inverted (standard) so i cant buy the Moto-D fork mount. so i am out of options and im not much of a fabricator. only idea i have is to come up with a mount to the fairing stay/windscreen bolts.

I just got that same laptimer two months ago. It comes with some industrial strength velcro that positioned on my instrument panel just under the RPM gauge. I had to move over my gear indicator to make room for it. The panel is cluttered now, but I can still see when I'm low on gas and when I'm pushing redline.

I had the exact same issue with you with the steering damper and the gear indicator and that was the only way I could figure out to make it work. The velcro is really strong and the unit will not move, you could always tether it just in case but I've ridden 6 track days with it and never even got nervous it was going to move.

I just velcro mine to the tank.
Can see best lap led and review between sessions.

How do you like it? Ive been thinking of getting one. Any issues with odd times or spoty reception?

I definitely had issues with the reception on it. Most of my sessions at Barber were recorded as one 20 minute lap, except when I hot pitted, it recorded a lap. Although when I plugged it into the computer, the software automatically broke up all of laps so the video overlay worked flawlessly. It was just annoying to not be able to check my lap times at the track.

I notified Moto-D and they replaced the unit along with the card. They've been super easy and helpful trying to get everything working properly. I'll be testing it again at Jennings in a couple of weeks. They did mention that my location on the instrument panel might also be an issue, so I'm going to velcro it to the tank in a few weeks like the guy above.

I have been working on better points and segments.
I had one of the very first next and it had issues.
Scott sent me a standard to use till it got fixed.
The latest gen worked fantastic at little tally.
The side by side line lap comparison is cool.
I have yet to try the video overlay.

I'm pleased with it and Scott MotoD for being on top of fixing it
