I am currently running 300v in my 2007 R6. Since I last changed it in early July, I have been to Road Atlanta twice and am going to Barber in September with no street miles in between. My question is to those of you that use 300v or are knowledgeable on oil, how many days at the track will you usually go between changes? I'm sure 300v could be considered overkill for a rider running novice pace such as me, but since its relatively pricey when compared to others, I want a better grasp on its longevity when used at the track as I've heard people say it's a waste and others say its the best and to leave it in for 4-5 track days. Help a track knucklehead out!:thumb:

I use silkolene, and when the color changes, it gets replaced....Average track days vary, so look at some older posts and it tends to be 2-4 track days. filter every other change.

How many miles u ride each track day? I change mine every season. This year was 6 race days and 2 track days so far. Full synthetic oil doesn't brakes down. It does get dirty tho. I would not go crazy on oil changes. But that's just my opinion. You will get all kinds of opinions on that subject! :)
All the way to change after each session.....lol

I aim at about 1000 miles or 6 months. I always start the season with fresh no matter what though.

Haven't really paid attention to the miles, but I figure around 120-150 maybe?

Run AMSOIL 10W40 and change it every 4 track days. Roughly 450 miles

300V changed every 4-5 days here. I would be running Rotella T6 if it wasn't a built motor.

we change after 4 or 6 td's. no street riding. pure syn.

even though I believe it's too quick, it can't hurt.
    and we use reusable filters:

the lead mechanic at CSS told me they use pure syn in the BMW's and change after about 5k miles.

I change my amsoil once a year, and I do plenty of racing and trackdays, never a concern, as it comes out roughly the same as it went it

Thanks for all the responses fellas. I'll give it 2-3 more tds and change it out. I know there are as many opinions on oil as there are brands and types, but any input from those more experienced than me is always appreciated!

Seriously, you are going to dump Motul 300V oil after only 2-3 track days? That kind of oil will last 7000 miles in a street bike if you did it in a years time.

No no, 2-3 MORE tds. That would make it 5-6 by the time I change it.
