I'm going to be upgrading my brake system on the '05 GSXR750. All stock now. Looking for opinions/advice on what and how much to get. I'm thinking: Steel braided lines, Wave Rotors and pads. My question is what brands? Galfer, EBC? Brembo? Do I need a new Master cylinder, calipers??
    Budget: not-unlimited.
I found a set of Galfer waves with HH pads and Steel Braided lines for about $600 at cyclebrakes.com. Sound good?

    Any STT preferred/sponsored vendors?

Thanks for any help you can lend
    Mike

Get the spiegler lines & SBS dual carbon pads from STG- let them you're STT Staff, they'll be nice to you... if it were me, I'd hold off on the rotors & get a brembo radial M/C.
    good luck!

Thanks. I have a bit of a high speed wobble (+100mph) when jumping on my existing rotors. They were bought used to replace the originals, so that's the reason for asking. How much difference does a M/C make with braided lines and good pads?

It will improve the feel significantly, especially compared to the Nissin radial that's on your gsxr now. I'd tried the late model gsxr M/C on my old 02 gsxr 750 & ended up going back to the stock bit. If you're having issues with the rotors, it may be better to replace them instead of the m/c, especially if it's working fine at the moment. it might also be worthwhile to send them to will's rim repair: http://willsrimrepair.com/ lots of peeps swear by him over on the WERA BBS. heck of a lot cheaper than new rotors f it works.

Mike I have one word "BREMBO" You know I had a set of wave rotors on my 600 they were fine also a set of Brembo on my R1 they were better.
Get the Brembo master, lines and rotors.........Spend a little extra and get a set that lasts.

Then again, if you crash it...$300+ to replace the Brembo vs maybe $150 for the Nissin?

Renard, can Fred help me purchase a set? Can you send me his phone number? I'm willing to consider the Brembos at least from a price standpoint. I'm sure they are high quality, but are they 'double' the quality of Galfer or EBC?

Fred's great, but call Sportbike Track Gear and ask for Michael Flis. Tell him what you need and be sure to let him know that you're a coach. He will not steer you wrong.
