Hello All! Sorry, I didn't know\couldn't find the new member introduction thread, so I'll start this one. I'm Nick, 39, male. Rode Kawasaki all along, current ride is 2003 Z1000(minimal modifications) Thinking of riding with you all Monday, june 3rd at Road America(since I'll be camping with friends that whole weekend) Enough is enough, and I want to ride that track! I had a successful two days at Blackhawk Farms with Motovid last year, and looking forward to RA! I ride in beginner group. I've been riding on the street since 2003, and riding cycles since my mid teens(on the family farm) I met Gunshow Nick last memorial day(2018) at Autobahn Country Club.(long story on why I was there, but not riding.) About purchasing the track day, other than this forum, i'd assume i'm not "member price" but non-member price, right? See you all at RA, and maybe run into you at the MotoAmerica races(i'll probably be the only one on an Orange Z1000 in the spectator area)
Also, What's the latest I should be buying my ticket for Monday's Novice group at RA? (BTW. sorry to mention the track day competition, I just live 40 minutes from Blackhawk Farms Raceway, the close proximity helps.)
Welcome! correct you are a non member . though I highly recommend purchasing a membership . its good for the whole year and gives you a number of unique benefits that only STT provides to riders! as far as the latest.. that is completely up to you, I depending on the venue and week they can sell out weeks in advance and sometimes you can pay the day before! generally I tell people about 2 weeks out is the latest I would wait.
Question: I have a full face helmet, with the full face shield on it, it has the slide down visor. Is this a legal helmet for Novice group?
& Purchased the Novice group for Monday! Looking forward to the WHOLE weekend, but meeting you all and riding with SPORTBIKE TRACK TIME Monday!!! Our hope is to camp outside turn 4, but we'll see. RA is being difficult with reservations. Maybe run into some of you watching the races!
