K3, If I remember correctly, it might be tough to win, but you are going to want to get yourself the '03 TZ250 RM. I personally have one of everything, & more than one of some of them. 143 bikes in my garage!
Thanks DJ! Won some 2-stroke and Motard stuff at Autumn Ring last night, then won the 999 at Deep Forest against a Gixxer Thou. Won an Aprillia at the same track, and a WICKED SOUNDING Triumph Triple at Grand Valley. Man, Grand Valley full course would be my favorite track if it were real! It's hard to believe the way each bike has different handling characteristics and sound. I love the way the 2-strokes load up if you let the rpms drop! Then there are certain spots where the pavement is bumpy or slick, so you have to either change lines or soften your control inputs through those sections to keep from crashing. I never thought I'd say this, but I think playing this game could help keep your eyes and brain tuned up over the winter. I mean it's ALL ABOUT spotting and hitting your reference points, finding the smoothest line, and slowing down your brain at speed. The street courses are harder for me. I can't find reference points as easily in all the visual clutter....
Reference points are huge! Then brake/throttle control at the limit. It's tough to look far enough through the turns sometimes though, at least using the handle bar view that I prefer. I like the real world tracks like Laguna, Suzuka, & Valencia, because you can shoot for real world lap times, but some of the original tracks are a ball. If you want to have some real fun, get yourself a GSX-R600 & take it to Autumn Ring, Grand Valley, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, & El Capitan. I don't care for the City Courses too much on the bikes (Because the low speed physics Suck!), but Costa di Amalfi & Cote di' Azur are fun in cars in GT4. Just noticed the other day on SPEED that Cote di' Azur is in the movie Grand Prix. Of course the Nurburgring is simply addicting. That's why I bought PS2, GT4, & TT in the first place. My best lap there is a clean 7'24.261 on the Buell XB12R RM.
I have been playing tourist trophy alot too to help with the winter blues. I might have to get on that motogp boards for some competition. I wish they would make the computer more challenging. I have everything set on pro mode and I just spank the computer. Need some more competition because playing the computer gets boring. So other than playing video games in the off season I kick in the work out and diet to get in shape for next season and I save up lots of money for tires track time and mods. Throw in all the sports and some drinking and salivating on motogp testing until next season and it all goes by pretty painless.
I wanna ride I wanna ride I wanna ride....... I don't ride what they talk about in the comercial, but it's true. I just want to RIDE!!!!!
unclepaulie, I found the MotoGPboards TT races looking for some tougher competition, & now I get my ass handed to me on a weekly basis. Some of these guys are Unbelieveably Fast. It's still a lot of fun though. Give the 600SS bikes a shot at the tracks noted for the upcoming series. Tsukuba is kind of boring, but the rest of them are going to be a blast on a Screaming 600! All you have to do to join the series is post a request asking to be added. Come join the fun, & maybe I won't have to be last every week.
+1 Winterized the SV one year. Took forever to get it started in the spring. I've never winterized the Duc and it has started right up every spring. I'll throw a cover over the 749 to keep the dust off (at some point). Winter = woodworking, diy audio, and a lot of complaining about not living somewhere warmer.
Looks like I'm going to be working in Key Largo, Florida from late Jan through early May. My boss is making me bring my track bike, so it looks like I'll be hitting Jennings Jan 23-24, Homestead, Moroso, Feb 18th... tee hee... Lance
Ahhh!!! You're making me jealous Lance!!! :x Hey, at least you can ride on the track for now though. That's cool. 8)
