I am thinking about upgrading/modernizing my track ride this off season but was looking for some input from the group regarding suspensions set-ups. I currently ride a reasonably well set up 04 GSXR 750 with Ohlins fork internals and an Ohlins shock. I have had it for a few years and really have no real complaints but I sort of want to upgrade to a more modern (2015-ish) 675, 750, or maybe even a liter bike. I don't really have any racing aspirations, just maybe looking for a bigger grin.

My question then is this - Do you all think I am better off with my ancient "good" suspension, or are the modern factory set-ups superior to what I currently have? I'm not opposed to dumping a bit of money into suspension, but I'm not really looking to create a money pit either.

And just an FYI, I run an upper "I" pace and hope to get into "A" next year.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!!

OEM vs OEM there may be an improvement from your 2004 to 2011+ but don't think if your current Ohlins is refreshed and set up it would be an improvement to 2011+ OEM on a 750 anyway. I have a 2011 and went straight for JRi shock and first reworked internals then K-Tech carts in the forks. Probably could have ridden on the OEM for a while but I like fiddling. :D
