    A newbie / novice question tire ?

Anyboby have any experience with either of these brands and provide me with a nonsales pitch + / - on either brand ?

I use my bike as both street and track, have been putting more track miles on recently.

I'm currently running with the 2CT's.

as a novice the 2ct is good, but you may want to just try out the regular pilot power as it is cheaper and i know many novice and intermediate riders who run this tire and love it... you can put the saved money towards more trackdays or supspension upgrades.

the diablo III will do you good as a novice and intermediate

both tires offer comparable performance and fit in the same market niche; sales pitch aside, Pilot Power 2CT's are cheaper. You can also buy them trackside from STT for as good a price as you'll find anywhere.

The Pirelli is only a dual compound on the rear, the front is a single compound.. (same as original Diablo Corsa)

We have found that for track use the front 2CT with a standard Pilot Power rear is a great combo on 750 and larger machines

It's kind of like running a front that is a compound softer.

I still like standard Pilot Powers a lot. I mean, can you really use an extra 2/10 of 1 percent of lean angle??? :D

Monte what type of profile do the 2CT fronts have compared to the Power Race series . Is it like the PRC , the PR1 or in between ? Also on a 06 R6 in upper "I" group or entry level "A" group do you think they would be sufficient ? I'm talking 1:09 at Tally and 1:44's at Barber right now . I think I'm wasting $$ buying PR4/PRC combos at my skill level and maybe the 2 CT's could be slapped on the streetbike after a couple trackdays (Busa) . After 3 years on the track on a '04 R1 and 600's I can't say I've ever had a tire problem but I don't want to find out the hard way the extra grip was my little blue pill :)

I also love that PRC profile ..
