I put on a set this year. Two intermediate days in and I love them. I came from pilot powers and these heat up quick, are wearing well and inspire more confidence. I have never used a race slick, so I can't compare to that, for for a street/track tire these are great. I do find they are more sensitive to correct pressure that the pilot powers, but that may just be the fact that both my last track days were in really hot sunny weather.

I've gone through two sets. I ran a set last year, coaching, for 12 days. it was probaby 3 days too many. I did 6 days in the rain on them- they performed remarkably well & they're the only street tire that have given me the confidence to get a knee down in the wet.
I ran another set this season & put 8 days on them. They're my favorite tire for coaching! excellent tires!

My experience was not so good. I totaled a bike with them on. Slid across entire width of track. They are good for street use, and perform nice wet. I think i just tried to take them too far. I was running race class. Now I stick with slicks.

I can only add to what gigantic said. I love mine, did about 8-10 days on them hell even did a race or two. You can run into A pace with them and they are very good in the wet.

im not really a michelin guy but when i occasionally ride other peoples bikes i dont have a choice. i rode a GSXR with these on and they seems pretty good for the one A group session i did. my only complaint was over cracks in teh pavement while upright or just off the center of the tire they would streetcar a bit. it didnt bother me per se but i could see it causing discomfort in someone not used to the rear end moving around

I know I'm late to the party, but I wanted to chime in. I am a Michelin guy (have run Races, Ones, now Cups) and I hated the Pure. The front end feel sucks, never know when you're gonna tuck the front. Now the one good thing I can say, is they do rock in the rain. I kept a half used set for that only.

I prefer the Q2s for a fast intermediate pace. I have two bikes (one street, one race) and have put the Q2s on the track (for experimentation) with good results. Better feel, progressive feedback... and they're less money when on deal (I have gotten them for $220 to my door several times).

    Just my $0.02

My first set of tires on my RR were Q2s. I didn't much care for them, I felt as though they slid a lot, maybe it was just me. However, when I got the Pures I felt much more comfortable. I've ran 4 track days at Intermediate and did Jason Pridmore's star school with no problems at all. I think they warm up quick and if the tail end does happen to spin a little bit coming out of a corner I know that it will catch traction quickly.

I think everyone has their own opinion, obviously I'm not a pro, but take every one's with a grain of salt and see what you like the best.

How do you guys think they'll compare mileage-wise to pilot powers? I'm thinking of switching to pures from powers, but love the number of track days I'm getting from my powers.

I have a post from a few weeks ago on here. About pures sliding at VIR.
I am going top try them at NJMP this weekend one more time. But front was sliding almost every right hand turn. Even on the up hill right bike slide across the whole track. It was real hot though. I played with pressures and tried to work with it. Was very nerving to ride all day know bike was sliding to me.
But i have been told to set them to 30 psi cold and just ride. I am going to try that for the first 3 sessions and see how it goes.
I was riding with TPM and not much advice over there about Michilen presures.

have pures on my street bike, 2003 zx7r, i am not fond of them. they give very little feeback, and absolutely will make you pucker on ANY tar snakes.

i am going to try either the pilot power 2ct's or the dunlop Q2's on the new to me 2004 zx10, that is replacing the zx7r. hoping they will make me more comfortable. ski

I have them on my Honda but in novice group.

    I thought they performed well.

I used them this last Track Day at gingerman, Power Pure 2CT and run in N,I and A groups didn't see any problems did call David Grey and ask about PSI and was told 32/28 but I ran 29/26 outside Temps were in the 80's.

Very happy with them and PSI is a BIG Factor!!

i went with the pilot power 2ct's on the zx10 so far for me... they give more feedback than the Pure's, and suit my street riding. i'll know more in about 10 weeks when we go back down to the Deal's Gap area. ski
