I run PR-C front at 30 and Pr-5 rear at 22. yes, that is the real rear pressure... the rear sidewalls are very stiff... mount one and you will understand!
a lot of the Mich guys set em and forget em. Meaning no hot checks. i set mine at 29f/22r with some adjustment for temps when they are extreme..... and aim for a 3psi hot growth, to 32/25. If the temp is consistent for the most part all day, I will try to notate what the equates back to cold when they cool and take notes for that. 3-5psi is ideal from what I gather, but I usually dont get my temp on pit road..... I get it immediately when I get back to my pit, so I figure I am for 3 in case they have cooled some in that time. This is all for PRC front...... PR3/5 and medium rears. Never ran a PR4, but my understanding of it is it is basically a PR3 that is only to be used when REALLY hot (ambient temps in the mid 90s)
How fast are ya? Honestly I have never ran one so I cant say, but that info would help. I have been TOLD it is a hot weather PR3.... but this is at race pace. The PR3 is a "one sprint" tire. It will go slightly faster at full race pace than a PR5 will, if you are good enough to eek that difference out. But the Pr5 will go fast.... longer. Get it? I have ran a PR5 from 35 degrees, to 105 degrees, and everything in between, so that is what I run (or a medium). I ran a 3 once, and promptly destroyed it, so never went back, and never tried a 4.
29 front and 22 to 24 rear cold. Like Joe said you have to check after pit in. Most of the time you end up running 22 or 23 in the rear cold
Very true about the low pressure. Last tack weekend I put on a new set and when I put the rims back on the bike. I felt like the rear tire was flat. Come to find out someone that i won't mention didnt put but 15 lbs of air in it.
dont they design the tires to run at those pressures though...?i can understand some small differences but were talking this tire has grooves and if your underinflating a tire just like a car tire the grooves could expand.......i.e no traction or collapse in different situations i always just run the pressure the manufacture recommends and will inflate or deflate 1 psi at a time to dial it in!
:? Hot weather, you would ideally use a slightly HIGHER cold pressure than you normally do  so why do you plan to LOWER your pressure because its "supposed to be pretty warm"
Was talking to the Michelien guy at RA May 1st, it was 50ish deg out and COLD, 30 front 22 rear on the sv he tells me...sooo ya it works, and per the above even the guys that work for the tire company will tell you less than 24 in the rear (track was maybe 60 degrees.....probably more like 50 degrees....)
