Ive got a set of Ferodo CP901 brake pads that I have been reluctant to put on my bike. I ride it mostly on the street but have a track day coming up next week. My question is can I run these pads on both the street and the track? The Ferodo site states that these pads are for race use only and shouldn't be used on the street. I dont want reduced performance on the street in exchange for excellent braking at the track. Any feedback?

That quote alone says DON'T PUT THEM ON. Most race compound pads need some level of heat to work well. Heat that is not easily achieved or maintained during street riding. For instance: SBS Dual Carbon pads are AWESOME after they heat up.... before that, they are a little sketchy. A couple good brake applications and they have enough heat to work well. I love em on the track but would not consider them for the street.

If you are a mid level advanced or below rider, stock compound pads are more than adequate. Late model bikes have some pretty good pads on them...

On the other hand, you can always swap pads back and forth...
