"Read the tire" thread (slicks, post Barber)

    Seems I have a rebound problem?? I dont know for sure, this is an assumption from reading the interwebz. What do you all think? Lip at the front, worn out at the back of the wear indicators.

    From the left side of the tire (rotation is CCW in this pic)

    No wear indicators between the center and edge on the right side!!!

    Is this a suspension setting issue or nothing? Ive only done 3 weekends, this was my first weekend in "I", and the bike felt perfectly stable to me....but I may not be experienced enough to "feel" a problem yet.......

    They look fine.... The indicators mark that way when they are deep..

    I agree. Some people go to far in "reading" tires. Most suspension guys I've talked to say reading tires is not the best way to setup your suspension, it's more important that the bike feels stable to you and gives you confidence.

    Some of the lip on the front edge is simply there from acelleration, when you are hard on the gas the tire simply stretches into the hole instead of wearing away, same thing happens on some DOT tires as well.
