    Does anyone know what time they open the gates on Friday to allow you in to set up for the weekend? Thanks.

    Go to their website and e-mail or call them...If I'm not mistaken, they open at about 5-5:30 are are open all night as they have a security guard.

    Two more questions:
    1) anyone have approximate time groupings for N,I,A?
    2) I have heard a bit of bad things on thefts at Road Atlanta, any opinions/info?

    1.) Intermediates go first at about 9 am. Then Advanced and then novices. 20 minutes sessions.

    2.) I have never had any problems and I don't anyone personally that has had anything stolen.. There is an all night security guard at the gate.

    Sorry I was unclear I meant approxiamate lap times. For instance:
    N = 2:30-2:10
    I = 2:15 - 1:55
    A = 2:00 - 1:45

    Just curious so when I glance at mine when I come in :shock:

    hehehe...my bad!

    Here is the way I see it. I will be riding with the A group for the first time in August. So I am by no means a "fast" A rider. I will probably be in the bottom of the time sheets for the group. But I was a "fast" Intermediate rider. My times were low 1:40's. The A group will probably go as low as 1:35 - 1:31's if I had to guess.

    The I group may have some riders in the 1:38's and go as high as 2:00.

    There will be some novices that will run under 2:00's but the rest will be over that.

    Just my 2 cents.

    ******EDIT*******
    This will give you some idea of what the expert and novice riders do at Road Atlanta. I'm not sure what you ride but you can just click on the different classes and see what each riders best lap time was for the race or practice.
    This is from the WERA Cycle Jam a couple of weeks ago.

    Thanks I was curious. I was at Schwantz in May but otherwise haven't been there. I am sure there is a HUGE difference riding with the instructors on someone elses 600 vs freerange on my RC 8) I am looking forward to the straight and up under the bridge.

    Under the bridge and down the hill to T-12 is probably my favorite part of the track! :p

    I'm jealous! I want to go to the Schwantz school...just too much $$$ for me.

    But I need it more (middle of the pack "I" after Schwantz and Bargy) :oops: If you decide to do it sign up for the AMA though and get 10% off (or sign up anyway)

    I called the track and they said to check with STT. It was up to the organization that rented out the track.

    Power at RA?

    Does anyone know about power at RA? Are there outlets? DOes it cost? If so how much? Do you need to pit in a specific area to use them if availiable? Would like to know for tire warmers and some fan units, RA is always Africa Hot.
    ? Gate open / close on friday does anyone know?

    Gate is usually open by 6:00, maybe 5:30pm. There are plenty of spots with outlets...you just have to set-up near one. They are easy to see...little poles sticking up around the edges of the pits and in the middle.
