I sent you a Private Message with information on where I got my numbers. To avoid disrespect I didn't want their business to get affected. It's sort of like how a dealership service center will have their own way of justifying their prices for their service . :lmao:
I did my first 7 Novice days on an SV1000. I had the suspension adjusted by Kenny halfway through my first day on it and I suggest you do the same using the tech of your choice. It made a discernible improvement. Primary the bike was quicker to turn in and better tightened a line if necessary. I was never happy with the shifter on that bike, and always longed for a modern inline four so I switched to my GSXR for all my following track days. Leading to my breakthrough I only had fresh fluids put in the bike (not counting fork oil) and fresh brake pads and Power Pure tires. Again, a suspension setup with Kenny made a discernible difference. My breakthrough came at Little Tally in 2012 after sitting in on a mini clinic that Jason DiSalvo put on. I mainly took away ideas to work on hand and foot use and position. His concepts helped tremendously. Coupled with that I worked with Vern specifically on braking markers. Between the two I founds myself much faster than ever before, and was among the fastest 2-3 riders in Novice that weekend. I got my bump up to Intermediate after that. Another thing that helps is to continually remind myself to always turn my head as much as possible and look further and further into the turns, particularly upon corner entry. Hope that helps.
I would love to be able to justify ohlins, but if I'm honest with myself...I need to lose weight. Especially with gear, I am too heavy for stock suspension. So that will be my biggest off-season "mod". That said, I took the time to learn (with some existing car knowledge) how to better set my stock suspension for me. My bike must have been sprung for someone who weighed about 130 lbs and the difference was night and day. I changed my suspension before my 4th Novice day and got the bump to Inter for my 5th. I can only imagine how the bike will feel when my weight falls within the suspension's range.
