    Thoughts?

Need to pull the trigger on one but stuck on stupid. I understand they both ultimately do the same thing but wanted to get some rider's perspectives who have actually used one or the other.

The other problem I am having is that my Knee/ leg sits pretty low on the tank. Almost on the tank trim and need to find something that will work on the tank and trim. SO I have thought about buying the Tech Spec Sheet and cutting what I need. But it comes in 12" x 13" sheet and not sure if that's going to be enough. @ 60 bucks per sheet....buying 2 would get costly compared to the 50 buck Stomp grip.

    Thoughts?

    TECH SPEC ALL THE WAY.

Stomp grips eat up your leathers (and anything else you put up against them)...

I will have to disagree... Used Stomp Grip with same leathers for almost 7 years... No wear at all that can be seen... Now I have seen Tech Spec not hold well for the tank pads.. Sides ok but tank always gets lifted.. Keith what do you use for a tank pad?

I have had both and prefer stomp grip because it grips better. If you don't have rearsets you might want to get some so that you get your knee positioned a little higher.

TechSpec looks better, but Stomp Grip works better, I have used both, currently I am using TechSpec, only reason is Stomp Grip does not make a pre cut kit for my bike, at least last time I checked they did not. Now I will have to go and check that out?

Agreed. A decade of stomp grip and I have not worn through any of my leathers where they contact the tank. A few of them were worn through in other areas for more exciting reasons. ;)

Have had both. Stomp Grip is functionally better and what I now use and will always use. Never had a problem with it wearing through anything as of yet.

I'm a tech spec fan but never used stomp grip. Never had a problem with the tech spec grip....

I just really don't like the way stomp grip looks.

I've used Stompgrip, Techspec, and now nothing goes on my bike, except Hydroturf. Besides, what you pay for either SG or TS, you can get a sheet of Hydroturf. I bought 4' x 5' for $70.

Thanks guys. ....the input certainly helps.
I'm going to look at the hydro turf. ....but I
Think I might give the stomp grip a go. If all else fails, at least i can say I've tried it.

Do you have a link? Thier web site seems to be driven towards jet skies and surf boards.

another vote for stomp grip. i've had both and tech spec just doesn't work as well. tech spec look great on bikes, but the adhesive doesn't last and the snake skin specifically isn't grippy. if you really want the benefit of tank grips, stomp grip hands down.

I have the Hydroturf on my bike now and I don't get any traction from it. If anything I slide around more because of it.

I recently ordered Tech Spec for my bike. They were a bit pricey, but anything is an improvement from what I have now. I just wish they came in more colors than black.

I have used both SG and TS.
SG does perform well. But SG did rub the inside of my leathers a bit. I only use Tech Spec now.

As Marc said, that IS the correct website, you cut to fit.

    http://www.apexmfg.com/all-products/2014-12-14-05-33-57/ht-moto-seat-tank-pads <---their motorcycle website

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=Hydroturf&rh=i:aps,k:Hydroturf <---where I bought the sheet

It's probably just getting old. Just take some sandpaper and scuff it up a bit. With a whole sheet, it's not like you can't just cut some more. With the sheet, I can cut 7 sets for my bike, with a little left over.
