I hope there are some girls on this forum to help me out as I am having trouble finding a one or two piece track suit that fits right.
    I am 5'5" 125lb (which I consider pretty average hight/weight)
I have tried a*, dainese, axo in 40-42 sizes. They all are really short! Short enough to be uncomfortable. I have a size 40 two piece dainese and when I put it on unzipped there is a 1.5-2 inch gap between jacket and pant zipper...
I've tried on a 44 size dainese one piece and it was a right length but was visibly and uncomfortably big in shoulders and sleeves... Ugh! It wasn't too too big but I'm a girl and I want to look good and my suit fitted!
Does anyone know if there is a brand that makes suits for tall skinny girls? (I have never thought of myself as tall!)
And if not then does anyone have ideas on altering the suit to make it longer?
I guess my last option would be a custom made suit. Any opinions on where to make one?

    Thanks in advance!

    Polina

Your not suppose to be able to stand comfortably in a suit. There designed for you to be on the bike. They shouldnt go all the way down to your ankles and you shouldn't be able to reach way above you either. Going to be tight in the crotch until you sit on the bike. Have several female friends that are your height and weight that wear a 40

sent from that a%@ holes phone

I am your weight but 5' 6" and I've stayed away from women's suits because they often have wide hips. I don't.

I haven't had the opportunity to try on a lot of suits but I know Alpinestars (mens) size 38 almost fit me but the shoulders were too broad. Teknic 40 mens fits me well enough. My most recent suit was a Speed and Strength size 38 and it fit me darn near perfect everywhere - except the crotch. I also had it altered just at the cuffs and ankles to make it shorter 2". I loved that suit. I had 2 crashes in it and the last one caused quite a bit of damage all over (I rolled and tumbled a lot) so I'm going to retire it. They don't make that model anymore - a newer one is out and I am considering going that route again.

email or PM Trevor or his wife Cyndi, they may have a few of the Femmoto one piece suits available for sale. My wife wears one of them and they are made to fit a female body.

    Polina,

I am not sure where you are located but I work for STG and we have several suits here that you could come into the showroom and try on. We currently have the Spidi Mantis and the Alpinestars Stella Motegi, which are two very good options for you. I wear the Mantis and have worn mens suits prior to the release of this suit.

I wouldn't advise that you wear a mens suit because of your height, etc., it will end up being too big for you in probably more than one area. Someone has already said it here, but the suit is not designed for you to stand up straight and if it does, it probably doesn't fit properly. I am almost 5'11" and wear a 44 in the Mantis, so I cannot imagine a 40 or 42 not fitting you.

    Thanks everyone for replies!
I am still looking but I think I decided to make a custom sized one from one of the off brand websites (I've seen it in person and it looked solid but never seen anyone crash in it).
Aubs, I wish there was an STG showroom in Atlanta!!! I would be there every day and would spend all my paycheck immediately... So maybe it's actually good that we don't have one, lol

I hope by "off brand" you mean "not the top, most popular manufacturers". Keep in mind two things:

    1. You get what you pay for. If it is "cheap", it is likely inferior quality as well. Everyone has a budget, but get the very best quality you can afford.

    2. Be very careful about the padding and armor in the suit. Women are built different than men, and have need for padding in different spots, particularly the hips. I have seen far too many women break hips due to poor protection there. I also suggest a pair of padded shorts under your suit, if you don't already.

For a custom one consider Barnacle Bill. He hand makes his in Kentucky. You might find prettier suits but his fit well and hold up excellent. If you skim through photos you can see some BB on the shoulder suits. Very reasonable price and easy to work with. Oh he also fixes and alters other suits.

And no he doesn't pay me :pound:

    +1

you get what you pay for!

Arlen Ness makes an awesome women's suit too.
One of my suits is a little short, but still well below the boot height.
Men's suits are not meant to be worn by women. They are too wide in many areas and when a suit freely rotates around your arms and legs, it's not protecting you.
women have curves, (doesn't mean all women are curvy or fat, but it means their arms and shoulders are waay narrower) and even if they don't, those areas mostly have stretchy panels that dont neccessarily need to stretch ;-) but they are there if they need to.

sportbikeleatherservice.com can make alterations, but they are in MI.

You don't know how badly men's suit fits, until you find women's suit that fits you!
