I am hoping someone with experience trying on or riding in different manufactures suits can give me a little direction. Teknic v. AlpineStars Joe Rocket: I wore a US 50 at Grattan that I rented. It was huge everywhere except for thighs and chest (I have big thighs and a thick chest). this is the only suit I have tried on. Teknic or A*: Looking at 2 suits right now that I could purchase (online, price range and sizes match my needs) and I would like to know if there are any discernible differences in cut between these 2 brands. I already found out that Italians skip leg days at the gym when purchasing A* compression shorts with hip & tailbone armor. I assumed I needed a L and ended up with a XXL.
I was the guy (Owen) you handed your rented suit back after you were done for the day. I would say that your about a 42-44.
Thanks Owen, but I think you flatter me too much. I'm probably a 42/44 in height but I weigh about 215...so I need a little extra room  How do you like the Cortech suit you have (Latigo right?). That's another one I was looking at since it's a little easier on the wallet.
Then maybe the 46 will be okay? You can always but bigger and have it taken in by Alexa. Yea, I like my suit. It fits me nice, pretty comfortable and crashes well at Autobahn.
go for an alpinestars trigger one piece in a 44 .. its inexpensive and i have one .. favors the larger builds(as opposed to taller) im unfortunately tall and athletic build so its big around waste and thighs but i love it otherwise im 6'4" 200 and have 58euro
Scott, A lot of suits fit differently. I'd recommend finding a place to try on as many suits as possible. I've been the Dainese Store in Chicago, they seemed to have lots of suits http://www.dstorechicago.com/ If your anywhere near Detroit then check out the STG store http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/StoreFront.bok Good luck. Steve
Surprisingly Cycle Gear just up golf road from the D-Store also had Alpinestars and Dainese suits in stock. Between the two you should be able to try some stuff on and get a better idea.
Thanks for all of the input guys. I didn't know there was a Cycle Gear by the D-Store. I've avoided the D-Store because I would walk out of there much more poor than I went in. I'm weak willed when I have something within my reach that I want.
If you have a price range that you'd like to shoot for, email us with your height/weight/build type and price to Orders@sportbiketrackgear.com and I can pretty much guarantee we'll fit you into the right suit.
Thanks Aubrey - spoke with Eric at STG today and got a A* Trigger coming my way. Hope it fits since there's no time for returns before next weekend... Who is this Alexa and how might one enlist her services? I got a EU58/US48 based on my chest & waist, but this thing has a 38" inseam and to say my inseam is 30" (like the jeans I buy) is stretching it.
So I got the suit today and it fits :cheer: I have no idea how this is designed for someone who is 6'3" though...I'm 5'8" and had a hard time getting it over my shoulders and the lower hug...whoa...I don't have a long torso or anything like that. I thought us stocky guys had it bad when it cane to suits but the tall guys...I'm simply sorry for what you must feel.
im 6'4" and got the same suit same size and getting it on/off is a biatch !!!!! but i dont got dough to get my dream dainese
No joke. I tried on a bunch of Dainese gear at the D-Store and they are very very nice. Very expensive though.
Nice! Glad it fits and we were able to help you out! No suit is meant to fit when standing upright, they are all designed to fit in riding position. Lol
