I have a friend who is willing to let me crash at there house before + after the track weekend ~ 1 hour from the Summit track. Now just need to know if the track is worth the 15hr road trip to get there, coming from South FLorida.
Have done all southern track except Nashville & CMP.
Can you camp at the track?Showers ect? I would rather camp on Sat night than have to get a hotel.
Need some feed back from the STT Eastern track-crack freaks.

It is a VERY short track.... I didn't like it myself, not so much for the actual course layout, rather because of the deer running across it.

15 hours one way? Not worth it, in my opinion. I rode it once and didn't care for it at all. If there's a weekend with the Jefferson on Sunday, Main on Monday, I'll skip Jefferson, even if I'm already there for the Main course, that's how much I dislike it.

Ummmm, aren't you a bit closer to Jennings, Road Atlanta and even Barber? Three tracks that are TONS better than the Jefferson course.

The July date fro Summit falls into time that I have free from getting my track-on , + free room + meals is a draw to VA. Already have my Road ATl and Barber booked. I favor running Jenning w/STT as the JenningGP track days I've heard from a freind are free-for-alls.

I have road the track about 5 time in both directions, my favorite is counter clockwise. Yes its short (1.2 mile I'm not sure its been 2 years) but is fun. I ridden 600's and 1000's on that track you can learn a lot. the track has camping and showers I feel we can learn a lot from this track.

Walter how many times have you been on the track?

Ducatigal said she only road it once. witch direction did you go?

Once. I just don't find the drive out there worth it to me. But you know me, I have so many other things to do that I'd rather save my time and money for some place I find more enjoyable. In retrospect I suppose the only turn that I don't like on that corse is the last one (when run counter clock wise) as its the off camber turn. This corse also feels a lot like street riding to me (at least on my local roads).

I'd rather save my time and money for places like VIR or Road America, Mid Ohio, Infineon, etc... I still haven't made it to Mid Ohio. My schedule just hasn't allowed me to attend a Mid Ohio track day yet.

I signed up for both Jefferson days in July. I live in MD, so Summit is the closest, most schedule-friendly track for me. I'm doin one day at Jefferson with another organization earlier in July as my first ever track day. Will I be dissapointed? Should I try to get out of it, and rescheulde for a Main date(of available)? I've talked to a few ppl around here and alot of them say they started at Jefferson, and it's good to learn on.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Any track is better then the street, you will learn alot more if you do 2 days. it takes a day to let everything sink into your head and make sence. In my opion 2 days are better then one but if it is the only way to get in the track go for it.... Both tracks offer go learning platforms just one is shorter then the other :D SEE YA at the track......

Cool, I guess I'm just amped up about the whole idea of track riding. I've been talking about hitting the track for some time now, and it's finally coming to fruition...

I'll see you all at Jefferson Circuit on the 21st and 22nd!! I'll be on the Blue R6 #500.

Any word on a Friday or Monday Main date? :?:
