Thanks to all for putting on a great day at Summit yesterday. It was my first time on Summit main and first STT day. I learned lots from the after session classroom meetings and following the rider coaches and faster riders around! Two critical points made during the meetings that I applied were: Sportbikechick said "If you run off and hit the gravel remember to stay off the front brake." While that may seem obvious enough, it was her voice I heard inside my helmet on my first ever off-track excursion during the last session. Made all the difference! Got thru the gravel pit in one piece and was able to go right back out onto the track. Monty (the director?) said "When you're accelerating out of a corner do not use your arms to pull yourself back into the seat or you'll piss off the bike." Late in the day as my legs got tired I made this mistake and sure enough, the bike let me know by giving me a bit of headshake. His having made that statement allowed me to realize the cause of the problem and not repeat it. I'm looking forward to another STT day in the future!
