I'm thinking about going down to Talladega GP at the end of this month. It's about an 11hr drive from Chicago.

Is it worth the drive, or should I wait until later in the year and go to Barber?

Over Thanksgiving, I drove 13-14hrs to go to CMP (Carolina Motorsports Park). It was not worth the drive, but it was nice to get away for the long weekend. Several locals couldn't believe how far I drove to ride there.

Wait for Barber. TGPR is fun, but it's not 11 hour drive fun, Barber is though.

Tally is fuggen awesome! The track is very fun and technical. The amenities are not that great but the track is fun. 11 hours??? what else would you be doing? I say give it a try, you only live once. I think the fun factor is up there with BMP. However these are my two local tracks, so I get to visit a tad more.

Tally is a great track, facilities not the best but good fun camping/bbq night before trackday and after. I did the 10+ hr drive from SFLA twice last year to ride it. Then again 50% tracks are 10+ hrs from here.

Fun track but no comparison to Barber. However you could stop at the museum during the trip and get to ride in some nice weather instead of sit in what is happening in Chicago at the end of March

Tally is a fun track, and one of the few that will make you actually use the left side of your tires. :D Of course I only drive 5 hours to get there, but even so, everybody needs to do Tally at least once.

Tally and Barbers is hard to compare to each other.
But, is Tally worth driving 11+ hours to? I'd say yes.

The facilities may not be the best, but it's nostalgic feel can be appreciated after a good day on the track.

    good talent on scene.

    Do it.

i love the cop in rearview avatar!!! I've heard tally was a great track and very fun to ride, only about 4 or 5 hours for me to drive there so it very well may make the list for my 2nd track day.

I have done 2 days at Barber...and just finished my first day at Tally...man does Tally work on you. My legs hurt but I can truly say that, for me, it is comparable to Barber on the fun level...just in a different way.

Hello, I have ridden Talladega, Road Atlanta and Barber. If you can afford the gas, I say try Tally. The track has crazy grip and is very difficult. A lot harder to ride than it looks. My legs hurt for several days afterward. Worth every minute though.

My favorite is Road Atlanta. Drove it in a Z car but riding it on a motorcycle was way more fun.

    Go for it! :D

We just did Tally Sunday. I'll go back there before Barber. Barber is nice, but more hype than ride. Tally sold out.......tell ya something????

Maybe I shouldn't have said that, might bring more peeps............
