Question in a long drawn out way: My boyfriend, Terry, registered me for Columbus Day. He told me that Intermediate is full so he signed me up for Beginner. Last STT days I did on Labor Day weekend I feel that I could have probably bumped up to Advanced had I wanted to, Terry confirmed this from watching my pace. I have no problem with people passing me... and they definitely will on the straights with me riding my SV. Should I just bump down for the day? What are the passing rules in Beginner? I also have no problem working on certain things I want to if I bump myself down for the day (such as working on increasing my corner speed, passing people, etc) but if there's no passing in corners then I'm screwed and probably don't want to bother. opinions wanted I'm posting this pic in hopes maybe a coach remembers me on my black SV650.
You DEFINITELY don't belong in Novice. Wow...Intermediate is already filled up? Lucky I signed up two weeks ago. I'm sure you can get bumped up....particularly if they bump a few sandbaggers up to Expert. I'll be there with long gearing on the Hawk, as Reynard suggested. Love that track! Jim B Green Hawk
Hey Michelle, It's Darren, we met at MMC. I was pitted across from you, riding an all yellow 04 GSXR 600. I chatted with you and your boyfriend Terry a few times on Monday. Even though riders will be SO spread out across a 4 mile track, I would definitely not ride in the Beginner group. If you're comfortable in Intermediate, ride in Advanced because it will be MUCH safer (trust me).
Labor day was Great till I was mauled by a GIRL on an SV! I've been a bit fragile since then.... Jim B Green Hawk
Michelle, I am the coach right behind you in the pic you posted (also on an SV!) so I guess I should remember you  You looked good out there in INT and definitely don't belong in Novice. This is a problem with trying to squeeze into another group simply because your usual group is already sold out. Also I don't think I'd recommend having someone else sign up for you. This sounds like a registration issue for Dave/Betsy. Jim, I had fun riding with you and your Hawk on the North Course too. I was pitted near you and the fellow on the RC51. It was enjoyable playing with the other twins out there 8) Darren, you were seriously haulin' the mail in ADV...I think you need to go racing, son I hope to see all of you at the Big M in a few weeks.
There were a few people faster than me but yes, I picked up the North course very quickly and felt very comfortable riding at a fast pace. I'd love to participate in a few races to see what it's all about - any recommendations? If you want in, we can start a team, D&D Racing!
Wow! Just Wow! Excellent layout! I had an awesome time today- it was great to see everyone- old friends, as well as put some faces to screennames. I can't wait for next year! This was a fantastic ending for the year- next time, I'll see about bringing some bbq!
Great Track , Great organization, Great day! A perfect end to my track season. The Monticello people really have their act together and they were very accommodating to let us use their "Bentley" tent and balcony spectating area. A very cool facility. Hope to see lots of dates next season so we can help them thrive. Well done Dave and thanks for the shirt! Jim B Green Hawk
Just would like to say thanks and very good job to the whole stt crew. From registation to on the track. You all deserve a big pat on the back. This was my third track day and what a way to end the season! I have been exposed to very expirenced group of people. That have made my entry into this sport of performance riding a positive one. Looking foward to next year to get smoother and have a lot more fun. Again thanks !!! And to Bill the F.O.G. you need to change that to S.F.O.G. (smooth fast old guy) Scott S.
Monticello Full (FULL MONTI) is now my favorite track and I can say without a doubt the best track in the north east. Thanks to David and Monti for having the vision and know how to host a safe fun day. Thanks to Ari and Matt for welcoming bikes on their car track. Aris' Ford GT sounded like a F16 on take off, some lucky guys got a ride in that at lunch. Me next please. I cant wait to do it again. The full Monti exceeded my expectations. Did anyone get any lap times? It was the first time I used one and kept forgetting to turn it on. The one time I did have it on, it recorded a 2:55.
Yea, rub it in... thanks. Had to work and have no bike (other than my street SV), which is not a Full Monti Vehicle!
