Looks like a surface hard on the tire IMO... What track? Also as Dave metinioned its Normal for a 1000 Tire to pebble up like that....

Ya I believe Gingerman is known for being hard on tires.

So you think a "C" even when it's cool out?

It's not as abrasive as Putnam, but it's definitely worse that most.

Start with the Compression recommendation from Eddie to eliminate the tearing. Once the tire looks good after a session then bump to the C to eliminate excessive wear.

I'm curious too. The Michelin manual shows temps should be in the mid 70s with abrasive track. I'm definitely going to try the C compound, but
I'm waiting for warmer temps. My last trip to Barber on B's left me with 1 day left in them. Looks like you could get a solid 4-5 days out of the C compounds.

I have the same exact bike, and I run Cup "C" with warmers- my tires looked just like that at Autobahn last memorial day weekend (2012). Ridiculously hot days. I talked to Ken "the suspension guy" and David Grey. My suspension was set ok, so I just kept riding. The following date that I did was Road Atlanta in August. Also a ridiculously hot weekend. I added a couple of PSI to the rear tire, and after a couple of sessions the tire wear was much more uniform. Now this could be due to a different track surface, and/or adding a couple of PSI which causes the tire to deform less under load, inducing less heat, and creating less wear. Just my thoughts and observations.
