well, I'm back in the land of the Obese and the home of the Rude. I enjoyed my stay in Toronto and had a lovely time. i'm constantly amazed by how laid back and friendly the Canadian people are.

For me the highlight of the show was most certainly the BMWR1200S. easily the most inspiring machine there.[IMG]

Mrs. Gigantic really liked it too:

before y'all think i'm a died in the wool beemerphile, (which i very well may be...) let me also add that other than the Triumph 675 Daytona,[IMG] there was simply not much exciting at the show.

as you can see, the 675 is tiny![IMG] (and i'm Huge...) yes, the R1 LE has the bling and the R6 an impressive spec sheet, but nothing seemed very inspired. Aprillia doesn't have distribution in canada , honda's offerings were mostly Bold New Graphics and Still bland and boring as ever. the Suzuki GSXR 600/750 look promising and will certainly perform well, but they didn't do much for me. Kawasaki's ZX-14 makes the bmw K1200S look positively anorexic and the busa, merely chubby; i definitely am not impressed by it.

On the other hand, Mrs. Gigantic fell in love with a Suzuki SV-650:[IMG] Looks fetching, yes? that said, her 03 BMWR1150RSA with 5k miles, is up for sale. anyone interested, PM me.

I also ran into our very own Nate Richmond who was frontin' for Joe Rockest Leathers, but i'd left my camera back at the hotel :(

I had a great time, and can't wait for the IMS shows in Detroit, Cleaveland and Chicago. See Y'all there!

    Cheers!

You almost look like a normal size human on the BMW, but then you make the Triumph look like a pocketbike. The Mrs. looked less than thrilled by the way. I hope she was having more fun than it appeared. It's hard not to have a good time in Toronto.

well, at 6'8" i make most bikes look like pocket bikes  the main reason i got my current BMW is that i actually fit on it... I just picked up a powercommander for the R1100S netting a 10 hp gain, which puts me in the current 600 supersport range, power-wise, so it may have another season left in her... so i may be out of the market for a mille. i'll let you know after my first track day this spring. :)

I guess the equivalent hp gain you would get from the weight savings associated with chopping of 10 inches or so would be a bit too extreme.

The Mille is still in the garage. Keep me posted.

I'm also doing a bit of fork work to gain hp and shave weight. that is, i'm working on puttting the fork down so i can fit into my new leathers...
