Just curious if anyone has run the new Dunlop Sportmax Q2 (replaces the Qualifier) on the track. Any feedback about how it compares to the commercial Power One or BT-003 RS?

It appears to sacrifice less wet grip than the other new racing/street tires.

Just wondering if my Dunlop Qualifier Q2 190 50 17 would work at mid ohio with tire warmer. It is a dual compound but wondering if they will get greasy on the race track.Any input would be appreciated.Thanx

I was happy with them. Did two weekends on a set. Started sliding near end of last weekend. I don't know how it compares to the commercial Power One though. I would buy these again for a track day especially since they were so cheap.

They're a street tire; no warmers necessary. Personally, the Power Pure a better tire; there's no comparison between the Q2 and Power One or Bridgestone 003, at all, whatsoever. radically different tires, radically different missions.

I used the Q2's on a 600 last week on a damp\drying\green track that has tons of grip and they were very impressive. I've been doing this along time and this is the first time on Dunlop's and I really like the way they feel - planted, confidence inspiring, and good feedback.
For M-O, just hope it isn't cool and it doesn't rain as there is NO grip in those conditions regardless of the tire. You'll spend your day sitting in the garage. :) If it's a sunny, warm day, the Q2's will be fine.
I don't think you need warmers as mentioned. The Q2's seem to warm quickly, a lap or so and you're good to go.

I just got back from STAR School. And, Pridemore had Q2's on all his bikes. Him and the instructors were screaming on them. Hell, he was dragging knee during the two-up rides.

i ran them in advanced group and never had one issue with them i would vouch for these tires i used to run power one commercials in intermediate and slid them all over the place but these stuck like glue only lasted me two days though but i got a killer deal on them thats why i even ran them! my pressures were cold 28 rear and 30 front and pretty much left them there for both days!

    +1
I ran them all weekend both directions at Grattan, but did mostly novice with a handful of I and A sessions. They'll easily go another weekend or two. They warmed quickly (like within a few turns throughout the day) and did everything I asked of them. Set at 30\30 cold, and never touched them throughout the day.

i dont know to much about tires but i ran Q1s last year and loved them and this year ran Q2s on my cbr. after going to deals gap and a track one track day they were spent.
i rolled right off the edge at gingerman a few weeks ago and i may be wrong but could that be from heat cycling them to much?

i am running Q2s on my gsxr 750 and so far have done 1 track day on them at grattan and they were awesome. I am hoping to get at least 2 more track days out of them before having to get new tires. would running tire warmers help them last longer so they wouldnt cool down and heat up so many times?

I'm on my first set of q2, and am quite satisfied. Regarding the wear-out; are you faster guys running down to the wear indicator in only 2 weekends?!?! What is prompting you to change rubber?
