has track security loosened up in the last year? my only trip to Thunderbolt, we attempted a track walk, and were escorted off the track by security.
before dinner, pm. my understanding is that Renard has approached the NJMP administration and has received permission. this is an official track walk.
Saturday Evening Track Walk - After track activity is over, we will have a track walk taking place at 5:45. This Coach lead walk will be educational about lines and how to get around the track quicker. The track always looks different at walking pace, plus it will get your appetite going. Very Happy See all you guys & gals at 5:45pm on the hot pit lane Very Happy Very Happy
WE had about 25 walkers. This is what I learned. I learned that turn 1 has more banking then I thought (good for trailing braking), 2 is almost one line blind, 3 has more banking then i thought (also good for trailing braking). 3a & b throttle control is important. 4 is faster then I though the turn and has good traction, 5 lots of fun (I like left turns) 6 again like 4 fast. 7 is the start of the way back to the front straight, 4th gear stay on the right side of the tire and accelerate thru 8 this is were 8 gets very interesting because it gets tighter, for me I used the curbing the right for my braking zone going into 10, (late apex) 10 pick up the bike for the quick turn in from the right side to the left throttle control is important here also (late apex). 11 just as you pick up the throttle I was pointed in the right direction for a straight line thru the esses (I would put my body on the right side of the bike and go from curb to curb under with a short shift into 5th before the bridge set up for 12 almost full throttle a small check up to help the turn in and back on the throttle thru 12 be as smooth as possible. The track walk help me go faster then I have ever gone at ThonderBlot. Please post up what you guy thought of the talk and what you learned THX Renard
That track walk was just awesome. It really opened my eyes and put a couple of very painful blisters on my feet. I am out of shape so I was a little bit sore as well. Anyway, I got a chance to see that I have been turning in way to early and that I can carry much more speed through T1, T4 and T6. Also, I actually got to see the good line through T2. It was good fun and very educational.
