I just got a 7x14 double axle trailer and am looking to set 3 Pit Bull TRS units in the trailer. I am thinking of two centered abreast each other in the rear of the trailer and 1 forward center. Does anyone have any experience as to where to position the TRS as it relates to space and ultimately tongue weight? Thanks!
As much as possible, try to keep the center mass of your added weight (bikes, stands, generator, tools, etc) over the center point of the two axles. If in doubt, fudge a bit towards the front for additional tongue weight. Less than 10 to12% of the GVW of the loaded trailer in tongue weight is not good....in other words a light tongue weight will cause the trailer to sway back and forth behind the tow vehicle and if it get's bad enough, can cause your trailer to go down the road like a herd of snakes.........never a good thing.
If your doing 3 side by side which will be tight in a 7 foot wide one I would position 3 axles over the front axle of the trailer with the middle bike backwards... Just don't expect to walk between bikes but it will work with TRS's... This will give you room up front for all your other gear and or cabinets, shelves ect... If you do the 3 rd bike up front do it on the other wall and not in the middle... More room without climbing over the bike...
I have a 7x15 single axle. I taped off a spot in my garage and laid out my bike positioning using rear stand. I set up my trailer for 4 bike 3 fullsize and one mini aka z125pro Rear two hug the right side as close together as they can be and not touch, front two offset to the left side
