You can turn the traction control off on the zx6r. For me, it's a safety valve when riding on a rain day just in case I need it and it has saved me a couple times. I don't use it in dry conditions.
I bought a 848 track bike (mostly stock) this year after several years on a street SV1k. I found it really uncomfortable at first, but I quickly realized that by body position needed some tweaks. I've gained a lot of confidence this year in just a few track days and carry way more speed in the corners. I would love to try an I-4 at some point, but I don't think I would ever give up the sound & feel of a twin.
Amen to this! I love my 675, but the torque of a big twin is a great feeling. The TLR was great for that. I wouldn't mind having another some day along with another track ready SV. For now though I'll flog the shit out of the 675 and have a blast. The bike is nimble and handles excellent.
Ducati 1198...because I love the feel and sound of the twin engines, and because I didn't want to have the same thing that everyone else does. Though it's for sale now after 4 years, and I'm my next bike will probably be a cookie-cutter 600 like 80% of the people out there ...if I had more money so I can have 2 bikes, i'd keep it, but unfortunately I don't
Nah, the 675 is well matched with 600 middleweights and the Ducati 848 run in that class fairly too. (and usually loses to an R6) In summary if you want the fastest middleweight get an R6. If you want the most fun middleweight, find something with fewer cylinders. R6's are a dime a dozen and just boring to me. I hate i4 bikes in general. I used to own a K7 GSXR1000 and I could never really seem to have fun on it or "get in the zone". There is such a thing as too much power.
gsxr-750 I have a 2011 gsxr-750 and love it. Always used the gsxr-1000 for the track and went to the 750. Has the power of a 1000 and rides like a 600. Best of both worlds fast and nimble.
IMO - 1000cc is too much for many, 600cc is too little for some, 750cc is great for most. Too bad Suzuki are the only ones that make a 750cc sportbike Bring back the R7 and ZX7!!!! Daytona 800 triple
I wish racing would just go by displacement or power and weight with rider. At 250lbs, I could use an extra 36cc's. If only everyone else couldn't have them too
