What Oil Do You Use In Your Motorcycle?

Was going to change the oil in the bikes this weekend and wondered what everyone else uses nowadays?

 

Nothing but Mobil 1....15W-50....... For about the last 11-12 years of so.

Amsoil Dominator race oil. This is what the sbk and AMA teams used. No issues at all.

 

Castrol synthetic.....because It is the best.
No need to debate, I have spoken. Castrol or nothing!

Unles they are out of the proper weight, then Yamalube, or Quaker State.... Anything but Mobil 1.

 

Amsoil. More important than the brand is how often you change it....

This... I use cheap 10/40 and keep it gold... And as far as Amsoil... No comment...

 

The good stuff! Or what ever synthetic is on sale at the time.

 

Motul 300V for no reason than that's what the builder of my first race engine spec'ed and some other builders I respect like it as well. Is it better than all others? No idea, I think it comes down to type of motor, build specs, etc. All I can say is it works for me, I have confidence in it and so far it hasn't let me down.

Pick what you like, keep it fresh like others have said and press on and have fun.

 

I've mainly used Amsoil and love it but also really liked Silkolene synthetic.

Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 5W-40. But, as stated earlier, I don't think what you use really matters; that you change it frequently is what matters most.

 

Used oil from McDonalds.

I have a friend of mine that coaches out west and has the same bike as mine. He runs regular old Suzuki Dino Oil, but changes it every other track weekend...when he had his engine 'freshened' last year, it was spotless on the inside.

I change mine every 3rd-4th weekend (but I use Amsoil). And new filter every time also. May be overkill, but cheaper than having to rebuild it..

 

Just switched to this recently.
Before that I used whatever was cheap. I've used Suzuki and Kawi OEM oil. I ran Spectro when I had them as a sponsor in 2011. Unless you're doing an oil analysis and pulling apart your motors (I've never had to.... knock on wood), the most important thing is changing it regularly. I'm not believing that you need to change it ever other weekend. Unless you ride like I used to, thats not nearly enough miles for oil to be changed in my opinion. But again, I've never dug into a motor to see what my habits have done.

 

I changed mine every 2nd or 3rd day (not weekend... DAY). Too much?? Oh well, cheap insurance I guess :/

Filter every other.

 

run Amsoil or Motul
change oil every 3 -4 track weekends.. depends on how much or hard I felt I rode... filter every other oil change unless it seems dirty.. haven't had it seem dirty in a over a year of this schedule...

use leftover oil for mower/ weed-eater and whatnots as it still looks good...

 

Family Dollar has sales every so often. I just stock up.

I use Castro and change every 4 days.

 

Valvoline 4T. Its made right here in Kentucky. Ashland to be exact. Keepin' it local.
