Who's all going to Putnum? Does anyone know who will be the instructors. I am ready to get the season rippin! See you on the track.
I'll be there...can't wait I just put in new racetech stuff in the front end, can't wait to see what a difference it makes
I haven't signed up yet, but I"ll probably be there. Last year it was sunny skies and 80 degrees.....More of the same please!
"Snow tires already mounted! Oopps, that's mid ohio!" Since they have repaved MO, I am guessing tire chains or studs are out!!!!!!
Kozy, You shouldn't need snow tires with those training wheels. That pic still makes me laugh every time.
I can't wait.I'm a track day virgin and look forward to losing that title. The kawi's got a 1000k on her now and she's a ready to go! I moved here to Indiana last year from San Diego and sure miss the canyons.I look forward to meeting all you folks!Do you guy's typicaly purchase tires at the track? If so will the tire guy's put your street tires back on after your done riding?Even know this is my first trackday,I allready want to sign up for Mid Ohio!!! I remember watching Champ cars rip through that circuit. What a beauty.I heard it has been repaved! I live here in Crawfordsville,In if anybody needs to meet up for the trip to putnam.I have a 14'trailor that would hold at least 4 bikes.See you all soon and take care! Jeff Powers
The tire guys will do anything you want if you pay them. Just be careful what you ask for if Bavol is there.
Bavel eh? Did someone get a tire put on backwards hmm?Has anyone been at a track day when it rained?Do ya chuck some rain tires on and make the best of it or postpone? How are we doing on filling all of the availablr slots for Sunday?I think that is probably enough questions for one posting!Damn newbies!
Your tires are the last thing to worry about with Bavol around. In all seriousness, the tire guys are awesome, & always busting their asses. I wouldn't want their jobs on any given day, yet they always manage to get it all done & entertain at the same time. A better question would be, "Has anyone ever done a track day at Mid-Ohio when it hasn't rained, or snowed?" Unless it's totally pouring from start to finish, we'll be riding. A few racers might break out rain tires, but DOTs are sufficient on a wet track. In fact, the Pilot Powers are pretty imoressinve in the rain. Riding on a wet track will make you a better rider, because you have to be smooth. If there isn't a specific suspension guy at the track, ask one of the intructors & they should be able to find someone that can help. In general, make sure your sping preloads are set right, note your damping settings, figure out what you think might not feel right & make changes. Simply trying things & keeping notes on what works & what doesn't is the key.
I will be there working (dunno if that will be coaching Novice or riding Intermediate, will see where Monte needs me). I am bringing my cousin to the track as well for the first time. Can't wait for the weekend to get here. Hopefully we get the weather we had last year (didn't it get to 80 degrees last year, with sun both days?).
S'up Larry? Long time no see. Looking for forward to seeing you there. I didn't make it back home in time from AZ to enjoy the great weather at Putnam last year. Made it home in time to watch it snow at Mid-Ohio though. Hope that doesn't happen this year.
I am the tire god and I only put tires on backwards!!!!!!!!! I will be at Putnam and will do anything you pay me to do, and I mean anything, lol.........Get with me at the track and i will hook you up...Bavol, Out......
