I heard the only option there is to camp. Are there no hotels nearby. Looks like a pretty small track, what kind of speed? Whats a good lap time? Any crazy turns...off camber etc? Thanks
You can camp on site but there are some hotels nearby on I-20 about 15 minutes from the track. From what I've seen posted the A group times are 1:04 - 1:06. I saw a post that the record was just recently set Robert Jenson 56.798! Bring and extra knee puck for your left
I would highly recomend camping there.... The Hotels in Anniston are not that great... Not to mention the gate wont be opening until 7:00 and you will be in a Rush to set up.. If you camp there you will have time to walk the track and become familiar with it.. If you dont have camping stuff have no worries... I always bring my Stoves, FirePit, Coffee Pots ect you are more than welcome to pit next to us and relax... Marc
as for the track, its a simple layout with only one right hand turn thats a decreasing radius. Most of the corners are slightly banked. It should be fairly grippy by now, I still have nightmares about the WERA weekend there in Feb though.
I have a few additional questions: 1) What time will the gate open on Friday? 2) Are there limited tent sites with power? 3) Shower faclities? 4) Paddock paved, grass, etc? Thanks I am betting that Marc will be the first to answer.
no idea on the gate times but... power is limited. just a couple spots that you can get it there is a shower in the bathroom (it looks bad but you'll survive) there is one paved road (used to be part of the track) running through the middle of the paddock. If you can pit there, its paved. I don't think there is any power on the paved pit road though. The rest of the paddock is grass with gravel roads.
Craig we will have just about everything for comfort... Just bring something to throw on the Barbie and a Airmat to sleep on...
I have my tent, air matress and all that. I was also bringing my camp stove (MUST HAVE COFFEE!) and small grill that I use at the track. I will be in touch with you before that date so we can work out the details on food. Do you know what time the gate will open on Friday?
GA2WLR Craig, Hope 2 see you at Tally , brew me an extra coffee RU doing 2 day? N & I ? U don't have 2 bring cat repelant though. Hope I can get there beffore dark fri its a long road trip from WPB
Whats up Tom??!! Doing both days in "N" and you know the pot of coffee will be on. Cat repellant??!!! ROFLMAO
I will be there on the 22nd and 23rd also, running N both days. I am just getting into the track scene this month. I will be attending Keith Code's Superbike school at VIR Sept 5th and 6th, then doing a track day at CMS with NESBA on the 9th, then hitting Talladega. I will be riding the Dark Gray '05 Gixxer 600 (if i make it through CMS in one piece  ) I am looking forward to meeting some of you.
To the OP. I am staying at the Comfort Inn in Oxford. It seems like a good hotel and has (probably much needed) hottubs.
Camp onsite hangout we don't bite, Ok the AL bugs might and the Comfort Inn shower is definitely a step up from the on site one, F-it rough it save $ for more tires & Trackdays
Hi, Craig. Everything you asked has been answered. I'm signed up for both days on my gixxer 750. Look forward to riding with you again. This track is great - nearest ride to Roebling as any track, just goes in the other direction with less straight sections. Like someone else said, you will blow through the left knee puck!
Hey Robert- I am looking forward to Tally. It will be my first time there. I am leaving the R1 at home and will be bringing the new GSXR600 instead. I hope to have all the parts on it by then. Cya there.
