Had an absolute blast yesterday for the first track day. Thanks to all the staff! Officially addicted! looking at 2 or 3 more in september and possible road atlanta in August! How would road Atlanta or barbers be on a 250?

barber...not as fun on a 250 as tally. you will still have a blast, its a great track. road atl on the other hand has a VERY long back straight. im not saying you wont have fun, but ur gonna get blown by. dont let me keep you from going, just giving you my opinion.

Was great to see every one out there this weekend! I had a blast as usual. It was definitely hot though! The little rain shower Saturday was fun, or at least a little cooler for about 45 minutes :) Tally has so much grip that even the rain was not a big deal :)

front tire just came out from under me.. whats bad is, i had been scolded by the officials for being to aggressive just before i went out, so when i went out tht session, i actually waited till all the bikes were on the track and going into the back strectch. i wanted to have some alone time. i rode couple laps WAY slower than i had been, and went into turn 2 and the front just came out from under me.. instead of it possibly high siding, i went ahead and pulled the bike down and got away from it.. it flipped a time or two, and i fliped prolly 5-6-7 times down into the grassy area. knocked the breath outta me, i couldnt catch my breath. so i just laid there. after the ambulance checked me over and determined i was ok, which i felt ok, i got up and took the ride of shame back to the paddock.

other news, bikes not hurt, rear subframe, and honestly mostly all cosmetics....nothing horrible.

i feel like a complete idoit tho for dumping it, going as slow as i was. i was NO where near the pace i had been. im VERY discouraged in myself, and my feelings are a touch hurt (yes im a big boy, yes i take pride in about everything i do, and i do have those lol).. from here, i dont know. honestly.

and dang im sore and black and blue from head to toe.. could barely walk today.. work was a b!tch lol

DROP...........I'm not an expert on causes of crashes, but if you went out and ran a couple of laps at reduced speed, there is a good possibility that your tires had not warmed up fully. I'm still not 100% sure why I crashed in T3 at Barber a couple of weeks ago and it bothers me not being able to totally analyze the situation and come to a conclusion about "why". Anyway, glad to hear that you are not hurt other than bruises and soreness. I've done it twice now and I am of the same opinion still..........
    Crashing Sucks!

Crashes that you dont learn from (not knowing why) are the WORST

My last Tally crash was that way. I was not going "slow" by any stretch, but I had been braking WAYyyyyyyyyyy harder into the chicane than I was that lap, and locked the front up straight up and down. I have a few ideas of why, but nothing for sure

That is the worst kind, and sometimes the kind that can cause "ghosts" to haunt you later on the track and cause more issues later.

    It sucks

Glad you are relatively ok though. Try not to let the "ghosts" of the crash get to you for sure

It seems like most people say "I wasnt going nearly as fast when I crashed". Makes you wonder doesnt it?

Drop, were you a little wide in T2 when you went down or tucked inside at the line ?

NOt surprising at all really. throws your rhythm off. You let your guard down some. For racers sometimes the bike handles worse at slower speeds as well.

For me, I had been out one session, came in to grab a guy who wanted me to coach him in advanced, and I THINK in the short time I was in, my tires cooled more than I expected and/or picked up a lot of rubber boogers which caused me to lock the front tire up going slower than I had been, while straight up and down.

But I dont know that for sure, and as such, a few times since then I have found it popping in my head when straight up and down and really hard on the brakes. Ghosts will get ya sometimes

If anyone was riding in the Intermediate group july/10/2010 I took footage via gopro HD session before lunch and session after.. I was in teknic leathers and on a 07 cbr600rr that had race plastics that were not painted at the time.. I have a wreck in corner 2 where somone endo'd straight off the corner and a guy in camo leathers on (kawa?) orange bike and a guy on a cbr1000 I think. Hit me up if you want some footage perhaps..

Sometimes shit just happens. Don't get too discouraged. When I bumped you up to I in Nashville you were riding good. Maybe next time out, just back it down a notch and work on the fundamentals again and work on being smoother. I know personally when I bumped up from Novice to Intermediate I got a little ahead of myself the first couple of times out and was not being as smooth and comfortable as I was in Novice. It eventually bit me and I don't remember any of the crash, but the next time out, I slowed down and worked on being smooth and wound up going faster and feeling much more in control and confident at the end of the day.
Just my personal experience and 2 cents worth :)

I saw a couple of cameras on SAT and SUN in the I group. I was riding a blue and black GSXR, I had red and white Tecknic leathers. I would like to see any footage anyone has.
I know there was one guy with a camera on his tailpiece, I think he was on a R6
    Thanks,
    Dennis
