It's just you Mattie!! Now seriously the bike is 5mm high front and rear from the recommended stock settings. Maybe I just weigh too damn much!!:thumb:
i dont know much, but looks like ur suspension is set too soft. when u drive out of the corner the rear is sinking down,, that is just my 2 cents,
The RSV4's are bad for that. You can see where my lower has done the same. But with that being said, you wouldnt drag anywhere near as bad, maybe not at all, if you werent sitting up on top of the bike and pushing it under you like a dirt bike. Perhaps work on improving your BP and you will be able to take that same corner, even faster, while leaning the bike less. Which will give you more room to either go faster, or to just have a larger safety margin. BP is typically taught in the Novice classroom session after lunch. Maybe if you ask nicely they will let you sit it on one of the sessions. Or you could attend a DiSalvo Speed Academy and we can help you get it worked out.
If you're going to be at Autobahn, maybe we could work together. If we fix your body position, the lowers won't drag like that. It looks like maybe you've spent a lot of time racing dirtbikes or supermoto. If we can get you lower and off the side of the bike more, it won't need to be leaned over so much and won't drag like that. Another benefit is that you'll make better use of your tire's contact patch. I'm the Intermediate lead instructor. I ride bike 333. Come look me up. I usually have some free time after lunch.
Plus 1 on Speed Academy. Jason DiSalvo and Brian Stokes have a fantastic school curriculum that traces its roots all the way back to the Spencer School. They have helped even an arthritic old man with prior herniated discs like myself to find a body position that's more Mark Marquez than Ricky Carmichael. Then there's their trail braking instruction, which is such a game changer that you'll have to toss damn near everything you know about riding out the window. It's kind of expensive. The standalone school is over a grand for two days, but all the really serious guys take it and their race results show the improvement. There's a rare standalone event in Jennings. Florida on 5-17/18. I am going to that school with two other Midwest coaches. There are still spots available and the curriculum is such that riders of any pace can participate, from Novice to AMA Pro. You should come if you can find the time and money.
I don't have an STT date on my schedule till Road America in June & July. In May I'll be at Hastings MPH. I'm more than willing to try changing my body position but I first need to get rearsets!!
ur practically impossible to get a hold of at autobahn, u always helping someone. i feel like i should make an appointment couple months in advance before i get a chance to ride with u,
No, I just ordered a new set because the stock ones are too far forward for me. I can still ride the bike but I am not even close to being comfortable on it. Here is what I ordered......
