Unless you just have to have race cams an easy way to gain about 5hp on the 06/07 750's is to get an 06/07 600 exhaust cam and put that in. In those 2 years the 600 exhaust cam has about .6mm more lift and 4 degrees more duration than the 750.

I have no idea what full race cams would do in that motor but this is the budget approach.

You would still want the adjustable cam gears though to dial them in.

I'm also not usually a fan of the factory pro velocity stack as normally not that big a gain but the 06/07 750 has a big dip in the midrange and on those 2 years the stacks are worth it as that combined with dyno tuning fills that area in nicely. They won't do much if anything on top but getting the midrange back is worth it.

Good advice, Dave. I've been told the same by several of the big shooters from that era.

Having had an 06 and 07 at the same time in the past, I learned a couple of tricks here and there. Always glad to pass on info to help people out.

He's probably not looking to build a motor. Buy and sell seems to be his usual m.o.

Actually for my personal 750. Thanks for the info Dave. So just the exhaust cam only and leave the intake stock?

Yep, the intake on the 600 was milder than the 750 intake. But the exhaust was hotter for some weird reason.

This info was discovered by Tim Radley from the UK, a very good builder over there.

The specs we used were what Radley recommended: 104/106

Dave any idea if the 06/07 600 exhaust cam trick works on the 08/09 750 motor also?

I'm still racing and doing track days on some of these older gsxr's.

I don't believe it does, cam profiles were one of the things changed with the redesign.

As to link, don't have it handy but just go to the 06/07 750 subforum and search for cams and radley and that should find it.

I have a set of 06 600 cams with adjustable sprockets. If they are the same in the 750, PM me.
