http://www.roadracingworld.com/news...-team-up-to-offer-free-track-days-demo-rides/ I will be at Barber next week. How do I sign up for an 2015 R1 test ride? And I bought a new R1 last year. I missed a free track day!
Hey Jeremy....I've got an FZ09 and my wife Peggy has an FZ07......they are our street rides. She went from an '07 600RR street to the FZ07 and she loves it. I did the motor break-in on the bike for her and got to ride it about 600 miles......I actually like the bike.....it's just a bit small for full grown guy that's 215 lbs with gear. I'd say check them out at the track and see what you think.....I think you'll be pleased.
id be too afraid to dump it lol i accept the risk of destroying my bike but i imagine u break it u buy it
Agree on the size. I considered trading off CBR 929 for the FZ09 just for the hooligan factor! Haven't ridden one yet and while I hate to give up session on the 675........ can't think of a better place to get a feel for a bike than a track!
Just be cautious if the FZ09 is totally stock, the suspension from the factory leaves a bit to be desired. Almost everyone that buys an FZ09 and rides it, let's say, in a "spirited manner", does suspension mods. My FZ09 has heavier springs in the front as well as having been re-valved and thicker oil. The rear sports a Penske double clicker set up for my riding weight and style. Stock suspension will give you a lot of front end dive, even if the preload is set pretty high.
I think Brett is going to be a popular guy. I guess I should have kept my keyboard quiet to ensure I get a try at the R1.
I am about same size so will take suspension advice to heart. Wife really wanted r3 but thinks riding position of 07 inspires more confidence. Guess I better get to Brett early it sounds like. Going to stay away from R1 as my tire budget can't handle it.
Damn! My chance to try out a new R1 out the window! I made it to the STT weekend at Road America for the last 3 years, but now I won't be able to make it...just as they introduced free demo rides! Could've crossed that one off the list
I wanted to ride it last October but I go on the... I cant afford to pay for it if I break it creed so... I watched everyone else ride it!
exactly, if i cant afford to fix my own shit if it breaks i sure as heck cant afford to fix your shit if i break it
Oh you have to pay for it if you crash it?? Well shiiiiit....never mind then lol Although I did take the risk of riding a friend's track-prepped RSV4 Factory, and then later on a 1299S demo bike (bone stock). No issues. I have enough self-control to back off my pace by a good 5 seconds at least when I ride someone else's bike. But odd things happen, so you never know.
