Can some of you guys tell me where should I seat when I go to my very first time at a motogp race? I've never been to Indy so I have no clue. I've looked into seating charts and looked at other treads on Google but I guess everyone has different opinions. Still, I would like to know what the STT family thinks about it.

Turn One (Soutwest Vista?). You'll see the start, turns 1-3 (maybe 4 I forget) and you'll be under shade with a jumbotron right in front of you.

Walk around the grounds for the practice sessions for a chance to take it all in.

Looking at the map I want to say Stand B is what you want, it's across from the jumbotron. You can always call the ticket office and confirm.

Sat there the last couple years. You are under the roof section and you can see t1,2,3,4&,some of 5. There is also a video screen right across do you can see the rest of the race.

Bummed I won't be making it to the race this year.

My personal preference is to move around on Friday, camp out in the shade in the penthouse in T1 for the day Saturday, and sit in Stand J for raceday. The mounds on the golf course for T6-T9 are very good spots to get close and watch practice starts after each session, but not much passing there.

I had a seat in J last year. Ended up spending all my time in the infield lol.

The penthouse suite in motoGP turns 1,2, and 3 are awesome though. I sat there for the indy 500 qualifying and thought they would be perfect for motoGP. View of the straight and I'm sure there would be some passing going on there, but the price is a little unsavory. I'll be doing general admission this year.

I'll be in Stand E penthouse. Turn 1 area is, IMO, the best seats and with the video screen, you can see what is going on elsewhere as well.

Did the lap last year.. VERY cool. it's surprising how wide the track is once you're on it.

You're going to be led around at a low street speed. It's not like they're going to turn you loose and let you drag knee.

There was nobody leading my group :hat:

I didn't get WOT or anything but I did get-ta-scootin' on the back straight.

If i did it again I would probably go slower just to have more time to take it all in.

I have a video of that too :thumb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf5_iQhIZB0

I believe I got up near 90 on the front straight. It was really cool to be on the track, but I agree that if I do it again, I'll focus more on taking my time and enjoying it. It goes by very quickly. If only I had a couple thousand dollars to take the Schwantz school there....

If you really want to ride Indianapolis Motor Speedway on two wheels, you can always join us for the Tour de Cure ride. Thousands of bicycles take to the track. It gives you a whole nother perspective of the track.

+1:thumb: We were sitting on mounds between T5-6, right under the jumbotron. Beer/food stand and restroom right there too.

IMO sitting in the grandstands was kinda PITA. Took a long time and a lot of walking to get back inside the track where all the festivities were.:frusty:

Definitely see the dirt track races Sat nite @State Fair.
