You know you only get on those spam lists if you do a google search for those right. I'm just saying.
Don't forget Belterra Casino is just a few miles across the river in Indiana. Tons of rooms, cheap rates on weekdays (or free if you gamble decent sums of money) , and a fantastic restaurant (Jeff Ruby's). Might pay for your trackday . . . or blow your entire year's racing/trackday budget in one evening!
Ooooh- goth chicks are hawt... Hey Monte- gimme a call when you have the chance. I'm thinking I might be up for a road trip in october & I've worked up a few new recipes that I'd like to share... -Chef
To anyone: Why does a trackday promoter (not STT or a competitor) do the following at Putnam Park: Unusual Fund-raiser: Proceeds From Track Day At Putnam Park To Go Toward Finishing Bluegrass Motorsports Park "we will be donating all of the proceeds of the Trackday to the new road course in Kentucky, Bluegrass Motorsports Park. The track is trying to raise money to make the finishing touches on the course and we want to help make this happen for the community so we can enjoy another great facility." http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=37622 Is this simply a shameless promotion or is it a new form of financing? Since it's a consumer products company that is doing this, my first guess is that it's creative marketing for them (Crosley), but it appears to be odd publicity for Bluegrass.
The management of Bluegrass did not ask for nor did they approve that... It was actually a fundraiser for a pc of equipment for all of us to use but just didn't come across correctly. That's what happens when rookies write press relases and don't let people who know WTF their doing read em.... Make sense? Brad's reply ( the owner of Bluegrass) We have taken a stance to not respond to all rumors because otherwise we would be side tracked and deterred from accomplishing our main goal. But there are some instances that warrant a stance to protect our hard work. The press release was definitely not true and was a surprise to me as well. When I heard about this article I assumed they were donating the money towards a track day or a membership because we are working with Bo on some other items. He also said their version was a bit different (i.e. RRW picked the title). If we needed funding I would be out there prospecting and actively seeking it. Not secretly putting together a fundraiser. I would also cut all of our employees and their salaries. My point being, all is going well at Bluegrass and we’re not having any fundraisers! we're looking forward to October's STT event and then rolling into 2010. Brad
Thanks for the update Monte. Looking forward to this event since I live about 25 minutes away from the track. 47 more days.
Yes Bo is a very cool guy.... He is all for promoting our sport in any shape form or fashion... He should just sell his Desmo though and throw that $$ at Bluegrass...J/K..
Time for an update? Can I get some assurance that if I sign up and this doesn't happen, I will have no trouble getting a CASH refund? Was waiting for the "open house"...
I have the WOW event on the 21st planned on my Calendar... I have others signed up for it too .. Driving up Tues and heading home Weds PM.. 14 Hours of driving for 6 on the track... You Betcha...
A collective......waaaaahhhh for the poor bastard from ATL. How will we recognize you without a jersey??? Oh yeah, the smell!
So what's the word on BlueGrass! Is it open or will be open and ready for next months dates? If I can't pick up a spot for the weekend I plan on attending the WOW event. R
