Just got confirmation that Dave received my payment. @Flamingemu has Dave said what happens if we don't get 8?

P.s. Booma and I are trying to convince another buddy who will be out there the entire weekend.

I think at this point it's happening no matter what as he was asking about hotels and airport proximity so he's probably all booked and ready to go. The more the merrier of course as who knows when/if he'll be able to come back.

I would still like to make it up and who know it's possible but my step brother just had a massive heart attack this morning. Tomorrow will give me the answer. It's been a HELL OF A WEEK!! Sorry for not having confirmation yet, I would much rather be up in Mi with you my track family than dealing with the things that have happened in the last week!!!

    From Dave,
"we will be setting up in garages 2 & 3. "

I'm waiting to hear back from Dave as I'm not sure but assume that the Saturday "A" students will need to move on Sunday to make room for the "I" students.

    I've personally rented garage 7.

Lynne and I would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU, to Nelson (flamingemu) for setting this up, and Dave Moss, for taking the time, energy and expense to share his great wealth of knowledge with us, at our home track. Saturdays weather wasn't picture perfect but, the additional classroom time allowed everyone to ask and answer their most important questions, without feeling dumb, or out of place. it was a positive experience for both Lynne and myself.

anyone thinking that they would not benefit themselves and others by taking this class, is SEVERELY underrating this experience. EVERYONE can learn something in this environment, that is set up to help those that are open to learning more about their adjustable suspensions, and how they act and react to changes from, adjustments, temp, weather, track, pace, ect...

try it, IT IS VERY WORTH THE TIME, EXPENSE AND EFFORT. Ski

Let me start by saying this was the best $ investment I've ever made in my motorcycle "career". I thought I had a decent understanding of suspension mechanics and the impact each of the adjusters made, but I was quickly humbled and shown how wrong I was by Mr. Dave Moss. The guy is without question the Rain Man of motorcycle suspension and I was blown away by his knowledge and experience.

Dave's method of walking you through the why and the how of each component and the affect it has on the motorcycle is fantastic. Although he shared a metric shit ton of information, he wasn't just talking at you. He used real world examples and dispelled a lot of the bullshit you read online about this stuff. On more than one occasion I watched Dave answer a question, realize the answer wasn't understood and he would find another way to explain it until the person asking the question had their "ah-ha, I get it" moment. He really is an excellent teacher and genuinely cares that his students understand the material.

I now will take a MUCH more methodical approach to my track days and I will really pay attention to what the bike and tires are telling me. I also now realize my "set it and forget it" approach was frankly stupid and I will make significantly more adjustments throughout the day as conditions change to keep the bike doing what's it's supposed to do. The settings on my bike ended up COMPLETELY different at the end of the day compared to where they started. I didn't realize how badly the bike had been fighting me and the amount of muscle I was putting into it to put the bike where I wanted to go. In a word, the bike is now nearly effortless to ride and I don't get off the track feeling like I just kicked my own ass.

Dave worked closely with me to help me identify that I had reached the mechanical limits of my front end, so I'll need to throw some money at that. However, I was able to ride the bike more comfortably than I ever had before and improved my personal CCW best by over a second. I can't wait to get back out there once I get the suspension fixed up properly and see what I'm capable of.

Thanks to John Burton for hosting the Saturday class in his pit area. This allowed for open conversation and great discussion and collaboration between sessions. The food and drink at the end of the day was the perfect and your hospitality was greatly appreciated. I'm also happy he won't have to sell his HP4. :thumb:

In summary, I had an excellent time and got to know some great people. Dave knows his stuff and he really is a great guy to top everything off. I would set this up again in a heartbeat and would likely take the class again in the future as a refresher. Bottom line, the class was worth every penny. If you get a chance to take it, DO IT.

Thank you Nelson for getting Dave out last weekend and creating such a great opportunity for us. I made a spread sheet for tracking settings and notes for each session approved by Dave, but we cannot attach Excel files in the forum. Email me at jlankes@wowway.com and I'll send you a copy.

I just switched to a new bike so I didn't do the full class with him at ACC. Sunday, I paid the $60 to experiment with the suspension. He purposely set it soft, then kept dialing it in every other session. I'm not sure I rode my fastest laps since I didn't have a laptimer running, but they were some of the most confident laps I've ever turned. I hope to get in his full day class soon.
