This bike is a legit, bad ass bike. The owner has a considerable amount invested in this bike. Anyone that is seriously interested in this bike won't be disappointed and $17,500 is a more than reasonable price for what he is selling.

Sounds like a bad ass bike. 17,500 I am sure is a good price but yikes I could not imagine crashing the damn thing then having to repair it!!!

It looks like the R version might have had a more limited run. Ultimately, though, it would be useful to have the year noted on the original post for the sake of those less versed in Ducati model history.

    Guys please !
    Here is reference :

Like I said one year only 06 and the bike was so expensive in production Ducati went nearly under because of that design. They sold to public only minimum required for keep it legal racing. Guys that bike is not for every one who like to ride on track I spend so much $$ on building it it makes me sick just thinking of it ! I could have brand new BMW car for that money ! Now if you know what you buying you know my asking price is a still but if you just need track bike and you though it would be cool to run Ducati on the track there are much cheaper Ducati out there. Just keep it mind that my 749 will smoke 1098 :bounce:

Xx9 series Ducati were produced 03-06 only and 749r was made one year only 06. Not like 999r what was made in 05 and 06

sorry but something is fishy about that bike to begin the swing arm is not from 04 but from 05-06 and the tank looks like 999 tank not 749R tank it's been big confusion about that bike and I'm not sure anymore what is the truth anymore but there is no R model for 04 and I believe the only year they make them fas actually 05 but they were sold as 06 and titled as 06
