Who all is doing Grattan at the end of the month?? This will be my first time there, and it looks like we are running it backwards... 8) My club (Ducs Unlimited) is sponsoring the event... so if you are running a Duc at this event and need pit space, PM me or email me to let me know, we will save a spot under our canopy for you. We also provide water and gatorade for those who are running Ducatis. Also... we will be BBQ'ing on Saturday (most likely), so we'd like to invite all STT staff to stop by and have some. Hope to see you guys out there!
I'll be there. First time this year, first time on the new bike, first time running Grattan backwards. That's a lot of firsts for one weekend. How is Grattan backwards?
You're in for a treat. It's a completely different track backwards, and an absolute riot! I've only had the opportunity to ride it backwards once, but I had a big stupid grin on my face once I figured it out...
I've been to Grattan several times, but I have never ridden it backwards. All I have heard is that it is a blast to ride backwards, so I’m anxious to give it a try. The problem is I just finally got my new turn in points sorted out on the new surface, and I have none for the entire track backwards. Should be fun. Steve, I want to buy a Ducati, would that qualify me to be able to pit with you? I was told to put Duc stickers on my R6 for Mid-Ohio; I’m guessing that will not work either, right? :lol: That’s ok, one of these days, mark my words, I will own a Ducati.
hey dude, if you really need a spot to pit, PM me. i'll have to see how much room we have, but i'm sure we can help you out. and for the record, our club, while centered on Ducati (being the official D.O.C. for Michigan), has plenty of members who don't own Ducatis. Heck, we have some members who don't even have a bike! so we don't discriminate... :lol:
I was just funnin ya, I am all set with a pit area, so please save your area for your members who do need the spot. And thank you very much for offering! I have been to your website, and I have considered joining. Now, after having this chat, I believe I will actually sign up. It would be nice to hang with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, especially during the Michigan winter months.

May I ask how you knew it was being run backwards? I have heard in the past, sometimes they will decide to run backwards in the riders meeting. Just curious. Thanks,
check out the schedule on the STT page, it says "counter clockwise." so i assume that means backwards.... right?

That's why we do what we do. Not for the occassional free BBQ, although that won't go unappreciated. :wink:
